What's new

2011 draft.....

I'm not saying he will suddenly want to play for Utah (who would? jk). I was merely making a statement that there's always more to the story .. or the tweet. He could be sick, he could have already had other meetings scheduled, whatever. Again, my comment really had nothing to do with Kanter, per se. Just the hanging on every news story, tweet, dissecting every word, etc. It's fun, part of being a fan ... I just think we can't take anything too seriously.

He blew them off. End of story.

Well if he wants to go to Washington then make a deal with Washington. Their pick 5th plus a pick next year. Get it done. Then Utah can pick Knight at 5 and have a genuine shot at a high pick next year.

They pick 6th. If we really want Knight you are taking a risk that Toronto might pick up Knight.

I'm with PKM. I think it's in our nature to jump to these conclusions. Does it look good for Kanter fans? No. But I would wait to say that him skipping the interview etches it in stone that the Jazz won't take him. As PKM said, a lot can happen in 5 weeks.

I think it certainly tarnishes the humble, high character persona some on this board want us to see though. I understand what you're saying about his agent, but you can take that meeting and in it state that you'd prefer they not take him......thank you for your interest though, no?

nope, most likely just millsap. millsap is great, but he is undersized and won't be more than a great sixth man. that's his ideal role, imo.

Yeah guys. Let's trade one of the best 6th men in the league for an unproven rookie. AWESOME IDEA!!!! PIZZA PARTY TIME!

So you trade Millsap for?
End up with Kanter, Jefferson, Favors all playing the same position?

all of them can play the four and the five position. but all are more of a 4 than a five, while i think kanter might be the best for playing the center position.
nice to see that we have some size finally...

you don't believe that kanter could average 17 and 7 in 34 minutes in his rookie year, while not being undersized as millsap on the defensive end? millsap might be an ok defender, but he is really undersized... don't get me wrong, millsap is a very solid sixth man that deserves 30 mins a game, but not more. no contending team would start him...

No way in hell Kanter averages 17 and 7 his rookie year.

I don't know what Kanter can do. I know Millsap can come off the bench for 30 mpg and give us high energy, rebounds, hustle, and outside shooting. I mean, I'm all for trading Sap if we can get some value out of him, but I don't want to trade him away just to free up space for an unproven Euro.

i think we could get a starter caliber guard or a wing.

seriously, even if he plays 34 mins a game like milsap? if he would play for a bad team and get his touches, like the wizards or the raptors, he could be a 18-10 player if he would play 35 mins a game. but i believe 16 and 8 should be at least very likely for him.

You know there is less than 15 players in the whole NBA who average 16/8 or better? If anything it's very UNlikely a rookie would come in and do that right away. Unless your name is Blake Griffin.
