Burks Getting Trade Attention

How does Mirotic defend other stretch 4's and is his .465 3 pt% (on high volume) sustainable? What's his contract extension going to cost?

I don't expect him to be this good. He has been pretty inconsistent his whole career. But shooting 38-39% from 3 would be an upgrade in our offense.

According to the Chicago Tribune he was looking for 15-16M a year before agreeing to his current deal

I don't get how any team would want Burks. His contract is expiring I guess.

I'm a big Burks fan, but his tendency to fly off and do his own thing just doesn't work in a tightly set offence. If we get value for him, I can understand him going away. That's the way of things. And it is true, he would likely do better in an iso offence type team.

Edit: Alec is mentioned only very very briefly in passing. Not enough to frankly even start the thread in the first place. That doesn't change the fact that he could be a trade piece, but no, it is far from imminent, and there's nothing to say that he would be traded any more or less than any other less utilized Jazz piece.

Teams are looking for a backup wing. Burks is a great backup wing if you run isolation. He can get to the rim, there's no doubt about that. I fear he doesn't quite fit here even though I think he's great.

The article I saw suggested the jazz would be happy to get a 1st round pick for him. What if we did Burks for a 1st round pick and we sent that pick to Chicago for mirotic? That may just do it.

If you do that then I could easily consider Favors, Johnson, as expiring contracts just being allowed to expire unless we can get another 1st rounder for them.
