Report: Jazz ready, willing, able to deal

That wasn't really what was being addressed, but also, yeah, he was one of them.
He had years in Minnesota where his on/off rating was ridiculously good. Like +10 points per 100 possessions when he played. The rest of Minny's roster outside him and Love were terrible.

And the roster with him and Love was also terrible.
...not to mention the dumpster fire FO.
The Layden Knicks, IT Knicks, and the Kahn Wolves are probably the worst FO jobs in recent basketball history.

Sure, let's just keep trading 1st rounders. Let's bear in mind Lindsey's history of non top-10 picks

2013 - RUDY with a 2nd rounder and cash in one of the worst drafts of the last 20 years
2014 - Rodney Hood
2015 - Lyles (who has been playing well and got us...)
2017 - Mitchell

I'm not trading a 1st for half of a lost season and one full season. Not doing it.

exactly!

You're absolutely right (but likely not for the reasons you think), and I think hindsight will really highlight that.

The Bulls have been trying to trade him for any sort of 1st and you want to give them a lottery 1st and Favors? Apparently the 29 other GMs have got it all wrong and you're right, lol.

given Detroit is out of the picture we might be able to swindle getting Mirotic for a couple of seconds and a player

I feel like the team control associated with a first-rounder is forgotten. Yeah it's a tradeoff, Niko's ability and skillset are definitely first round-value but he also hits the unrestricted market after next season. A first round pick doesn't hit the market for 4 years, in which they are also restricted.

There's a reason first-round picks seem much more valued than they used to be. Cheap, team controlled contracts.

I've never rated Mirotic that highly. I don't even think he is a key piece to a Championship winning team. Does he even play defense?

He's an ok defender. He's a good rebounder especially considering how he plays. He would seem to fit well in this kind of system. I still think the Jazz would need another star player and for Donovan to progress some more to be legit contenders.
