Yeah. This deal makes way too much sense. I don't know why it hasn't happened yet.

I proposed Favs Jerebko to NO and Niko and Ajinca to Utah... as an add on to the original trade.

Maybe everyone is sleeping on it but if NO wants expiring contracts we have so many to offer.

This seems like such a natural obtainable deal.

Boston gets a lot out of this deal and should probably send some compensation NO way. I’d really like to facilitate a deal that takes Hayward away from Boston. That’d be a huge win.

The Cavs aren't trading the Brooklyn pick. So what could we get from them that's of any interest to us that they would actually trade? I don't see anything except for maybe Crowder. They don't seem like interesting trade partners for us.

Their own pick, along with Frye (expiring). Doubt they want to give up Crowder, so other assets need to move. Maybe they want JJ instead? That contract is easier to match.

We then quickly convey that pick to Chicago for Mirotic. Jazz have no problem agreeing to Niko's extension. However, they're trying to get Jordan and Williams. Jazz could facilitate.

Utah: Niko
Cavs: Favors
Bulls: Frye and a 1st.

Unfortunately, that does not work in the trade machine thing. It would need to be Iman or JR Smith. Maybe the Bulls are willing to take one of those two instead of an inspiring. However, I am sure the Cavs 1st round pick is not all that exciting in the first place.

Not as good as the NO pick, but it's a first and the Pelicans don't want Niko's extra year. Chicago was willing to take on Asik. To only have Shumpert would better for them.

Is NOP really gonna trade a 1st round pick to get rid of Asik? Was it rumored to be protected? They looked so bad against the Kings. Shot 51/36/76 and still lost to the Kings at home by 11. Gave up 26 second chance points and had zero themselves. Gave up 14 offensive rebounds. I feel like it had to be lotto protected or something...

Right now, if I had to bet on it, I don't think the Jazz trade Favors. Especially with what happened last night. I think they really want to find out what they have with this core when healthy.

I agree. There's no way the Jazz are giving up on the playoffs before the deadline, and since they don't, they won't trade Favors unless they get a great offer.

I would think they would be more interested in Niko seeing as he's a natural 4
If LeBron leaves then I doubt they want Niko. Love won’t be out for the playoffs. Who knows, though. It’s Dan Gilbert and apparently he has taken over basketball decisions.

Guys, I'm all for trades, but I am at a loss right now. I'm not really sure what to do. Without even mentioning trade targets, I think it is silly to keep Favors if he can fetch us a young player or pick, but I'm not sure who that is. Burks seems like "surplus to requirements" as they say in soccer, but I don't see a trade where we trade him for a worthy expiring. Hood seems like the best guy to trade, but for who and what?

This last stretch before the deadline seems crucial to our future. Its almost like go big (Jabari, Fultz, somebody not being rumored publicly) or we mostly stay put. We either learn to win with what we got or use all our ammo to add a "missing piece".
