Utah Trade Deadline Discussion

Calm down kid.

If you don't see the numbers as part of this, you're a moron. We have 5 players right now who are severely underpaid the next 5 years. We need to capitalize on that.

Go pout somewhere else if you aren't looking for solutions.

I swear if you put Biyombo in one more trade and try.and bring back 2020 salary I will slap you.

(Ill apologize tomorrow, I know Im being a massive dick, just wound up).

But seriously enough Biyombo. And next year is the time to capitalize NOT THIS YEAR STOP WASTING MONEY IN YOUR TRADE IDEAS

If the Jazz can make Jae look like the Celtics version, that's going to add a lot to their cred with future free agents. They're pretty dedicated to crafting an image of elevating players.

I may have overreacted a little bit. I do like Crowder, but I think Hood has a much higher ceiling. If Hood gets better, I'd rather pay $15 million for a key player than have a bargain decent starter.

I love this trade if it opens the financial door for something bigger. I hope we keep dealing.
What if Hood gets an offer for $18M or $20M? Or what if he and his agent DO sign a deal for $15M, but request the Jazz don't match because Rodney wants to start somewhere?

Seriously, people are upset because we didn't get a 2nd? How many 2nd's even make a roster? For that matter, how many late 1st's become decent rotation players. Yes, Jazz found Gobert and Hood. But go back over the past several drafts (excluding last year, which was unusually deep) and see which mid-to-late 1sts have made little impact or are out of the league. Crowder for Hood is a very good and fair trade for both teams.

There have been a number of us talking about Crowder the last few years for a reason. He is a great fit next to Gobert. He provides athleticism and enough shooting to give Gobert more space. He gives more space for Mitchell now too.

Crowder and Ingles will sit out on the edge and corners. Rubio, Mitchell and Exum will run the two man game with Gobert with the ability to penetrate and pitch.

They are Aaron Gordon trade ideas not Biyombo trade ideas. Focus. It's like somebody crying over our trade for Derrick Rose. OMG Derrick Rose Derrick Rose. We just traded for Crowder.

Does Aaron Gordon make us a contender? That is the question. Does Jabari?

I think Crowder will become a crowd favorite. Just like the Junk Yard Dog in Earl Watson and T-Booker. He won't come out and dominate every night but he will bring a toughness and attitude.

It's important to realize that Hood was never going to be more than a bench player for us. He's a 6th man, and clearly DL didn't think what he would have to pay him would warrant that position, and Hood probably didn't want to be here coming off the bench.

You focus.

Biyombo has a player option for 2020 and at $17 ****ing Million dollars he sure as **** aint turning that down!

His option is for 2019-20. http://www.basketballinsiders.com/orlando-magic-team-salary/ So we would pay him for 2 seasons at $17. But we would have Aaron Gordon from age 22 to hopefully age 32 playing alongside Donovan Mitchell the whole way winning championships.

After 148 pages you still dont get it. We are positioning for next years free agent class. With Biyombo on our books we'll just be standing around with our dick in our hands while all nba talent is distributed through the league

#1 - most of the league has ample 2019 cap space
#2 - are we a major free agent destination? I forget...
#3 - Aaron Gordon or Parker is a bigger acquisition than we ever have had in free agency

So you trade for the right to get the fantastic asset rather than hope really, really hard.
