Hood traded to Cleveland for Crowder; Johnson to Sacramento

I like it, I think.

Hood is the better player WHEN he plays, as long as he plays well. But, his future contract aside, Hood has missed something like a third of his career to a multitude of, um, injuries? To top that off, he doesn't always show up when he does play.

Crowder is a great system player who plays his *** off and provides spacing. His advanced stats in his last year in Boston were comparable to Hayward's (different roles of course).

Crowder is absolutely better than 25 good games of Hood, at any price.

I'm really excited to see what Jae can do, and I heartily welcome him to the family.

No way he put Ingles to the bench. Ingles shooting is too important in the starting lineup.

Spacing wont change between the two. Crowder isnt a guy you leave open from 3, so their shooting doesnt change much. Either way you can keep ingles starting but Crowder is going to cut back some of his minutes and a little bit of his ball handling. Ingles was playing too much and trying to do too much and got worn down.

Crowder has had one good shooting year. Spacing changes a lot, plus the whole actually making the shot thing.

Also the Jazz have won 7 games in a row, they arent changing the starting lineup

*unless a favors trade happens*

Terrible trade. How could anyone possibly think the Jazz won a trade when they get a player whose production is literally half of that of the player we're sending to Cleveland?

You don't want vet wings on your team who arent playing when they want to be playing.

I want to be as deep as possible, and if there's an issue you can trade for assets. Hood/Royce/Ingles/Thabo/Crowder with Thabo and Crowder able to play the 4 isn't too much.

Love the trade. I think Crowder will fit in very nicely and is on an extremely team-friendly contract. Plus, Hood wasn't coming back anyways. Opens up big minutes for Exum when he returns (who we will re-sign) and will also free up more minutes for Burks.

Plus, Hood seemed like kind of a wuss tbh.

No one leaves him open in Cleveland and dares him to shoot. That is the only thing that hurts spacing, like what players do to Rubio.
No, that isnt the only thing dude. Ingles is one of the best off the dribble 3 point shooters this year. Players cant go under the pick on Ingles. THey can on Crowder, he isnt an off the dribble shooter.

This trade is horrible: Why? Because there are not a lot of teams that can offer Rodney a max contract this summer and there's more free agents than money, so Utah could've low balled him into a 15-17 mil a year deal that's cost efficient for a 2nd/3rd option on offense. Crowder is in a slump and the value of Hood should equal the Nets first provided we take back a bad contract.
I obviously don't know if Rodney wanted out or if the team wanted to get rid of him for whatever reason. I'm just not psyched about the return.

Yeah, you know when trading thabo is most valuable? Before his guarantee date.

Uhh, no one is giving Hood a max. The Jazz are scared of the 17 million offer.
