What's new

Hood traded to Cleveland for Crowder; Johnson to Sacramento

Just now learned this and only read one page of the thread. But doesn't this make resigning Favors more likely now because it gives the Jazz more financial flexibility?

You could argue it either way. Crowder plays PF, that's Favors position. Ingles can play some PF as well. If they want to go after a max free agent in 2019, paying Favors would get in the way of that.

He took kind of a lot of shots to get those points (he wasn’t all that efficient)

So in answer to your question, simply have other players take the shots hood was taking. Could work out even better if more efficient players are now taking the field goal attempts that hood was previously.

55% TS on 14 shots a game isn't efficient? Not sure I can agree on that.

unfortunately we are going to lose some offensive power but we should make up for that on defense.

Hood was having a career season shooting the ball.
So basically, like was said, his shooting isn't all that efficient but he does have excuses as to why I guess. Of course no one said he didn't.

Agree on what? I didn't say it was horrible. Just that's is not all that efficient. We have other players who are more efficient that can take some of his shots.

I thought Cleveland was headed south after that first trade but, strangely, at the end of the day, anyone else think this actually increases the chances LeBron stays or opts in to his final year?

Not all shots are created equally.

Unless crowder plays better for the jazz than hood did.
Then it wouldn't suck.

I mean, not necessarily. Hood at 17 ppg at his age and on a value deal would be a bigger asset. Jazz are betting that Hood gets overpaid relative to their situation and plan.

Hood wasn't some super efficient offensive juggernaut or something.
We will be fine without him.
I'n fact we already have seen what we look like without him this year and it looked pretty good. 10-5
