This trade is horrible: Why? Because there are not a lot of teams that can offer Rodney a max contract this summer and there's more free agents than money, so Utah could've low balled him into a 15-17 mil a year deal that's cost efficient for a 2nd/3rd option on offense. Crowder is in a slump and the value of Hood should equal the Nets first provided we take back a bad contract.
I obviously don't know if Rodney wanted out or if the team wanted to get rid of him for whatever reason. I'm just not psyched about the return.
15-17M is low-balled? I tend to disagree. Huge contracts or not the last couple years, the market is correcting itself and taking on that contract for a 6th man with a cap that barely increases the next few years would be potentially crippling for any sort of flexibility and/or ability to truly upgrade our starting lineup.
