2011 draft.....

Ok fellas getting a little geeked about hamiltons potential. From ford

• I expect we'll be seeing Texas' Jordan Hamilton rising on boards in the next few weeks. NBA scouts have always loved his talent. They believe he's one of the few guys in this draft who could average 20 ppg in the NBA. He measured well for a small forward (6-8 with an 8-8 standing reach) and I'm told he was very good in interviews. If teams feel confident that he'll mature and quit taking crazy shots, he's a very interesting prospect who could go as high as the Kings at No. 7. The Bobcats, Warriors, Suns and Rockets also have major interest.

Hamilton has natural scoring abilities that you can't teach. Shot selection is something that can be improved with experience and maturity. He improved tremendously between his freshman and sophomore years. Makes him VERY intriguing.

Also something interesting, I remember reading in an article about him in ESPN the Mag (I'll try to find a link if possible). It detailed how Rick Barnes polled NBA people on the best offense (they were struggling in their former system) to run and found the Jazz's system was highly respected. So he implemented sets into their offense that are similar to what the Jazz run. So Hamilton has already been exposed to the Jazz's system, to an extent. He can probably come in and contribute more right away than any other player we could get at 12 (and probably even at 3). He's pretty high up on my wish list.

Finally people have started to jump on the Hamilton bandwagon. I defended him for awhile and just gave up after the only bad thing people can come up with him is shot selection and some questionable defense. #1, his shot selection improved last year and I thought he said on his DX interview he has worked on his defense and loosening up his hips which will help his D

I really see him as a Paul George type of guy that can rebound a lot better. Everyone questioned George's D entering the draft and if you watched any Pacer games, George turned himself into a good defender. I see Hamilton as a 3rd option, similar to a James Harden

I was told that we should not consider Hamilton at 12, but sure if we really want a wing at 12 and Burks is gone he could be the man. Definitely not sure the Morris who says he is a 3 will work out and Singleton's offense has a lot to be desired. Improved his Fg% 3pt% and FT% considerably from his freshman year.

Article with some interesting information about Kanter:

"He went 21-plus minutes on the treadmill test, and only five guys -- plus Enes -- [did that] and four of them were guards," Ergul told SI.com. "[NBA officials] said that was the first time in the draft in modern history that had happened, that no 6-11-plus guys ever finished 21-minutes-plus on the treadmill test ... People don't realize how prepared this kid is, how dedicated he is."

"The only one I really didn't care for him [to go to] is Milwaukee," Ergul said. "I'll be honest ... it came out all wrong. [Utah general manager] Kevin [O'Connor] knew about it ... We called them, and it was because in next two weeks I had a feeling we were going to see each other extensively, so there's no reason for that [interview].

"Kevin told me he's really impressed with the kid and he wants to have him in Utah and he'll also come to Chicago ... I apologized to him five times for it coming out wrong, even though I didn't do anything wrong. He knew we were going to see them."

Starting to look like a 3 man draft, which is good news for us. I still really like Knight, but Kanter is establishing himself as the BPA for us.

Yet in your signature you have Hamilton as your 7th option at 12 behind Jimmer...

-Draft BPA at 12 (Biyombo,Donatas,Leonard,Burks,Singleton,Jimmer,Hamilton,Klay Thompson)- My order of preference

What is the treadmill test? I'm assuming it's just running, but is it a flat rate or just "running".

And why could only 5 guys do more than 21 minutes?

#3 - the Jazz can't lose.

But what with all the wings in the 2012 draft, coupled with the uncertainty of Dwill2's transition to the 3, I think I've got Kanter at the top of my personal draft board.

I think the treadmill test is for the player to run on the treadmill keeping their heart rate within a certain range and sustaining it for as long as they can. It's a test of cardiovascular efficiency and endurance.

So how do I declare for the draft? My name would be in the top 5 in at least one categoty.
