With regard to Crowder, I remember watching him light us up when he went to Boston. There was one game in particular, before he blew up, that I had no idea who he was but he was looking like the Manimal out there roughing us up but then burying three after three. We came in town a couple years ago from Texas and I took my two oldest kids, as well as my father and father-in-law, when we hosted the Celtics and told my dad that he’d probably light us up.
The Fresh Prince got me excited on Semi Ojeleye this summer as a Jae Crowder guy and that’s who I wanted in the draft (wanted some toughness and outside shooting). Then the inevitable Hayward departure felt like ****. Then, a ray of hope came along with “discussions” between the Jazz and Celtics re: a Hayward S&T to send Crowder to the Jazz. I thought, surely, Ainge just sunk his son’s political aspirations and he could throw his son a bone to smooth things over with. The excitement of thinking we could land Crowder made the pain of the Hayward fiasco not sting so bad. But then that son of a bitch dealt Avery Bradley instead and Crowder dreams got shattered. He then got shipped off to Cleveland, where he (literally) became the Hayward killer and we’ve spent the better part of six months proposing deals with Cleveland that land us Jae, being constantly rebuffed by Cy saying that Cleveland won’t trade him because he’s one of their only good wing defenders for the finals.
Well here he is, you bastards. He was foreordained a Jazzman.
Now the countdown to Patrick Beverley and Nikola Mirotic for the holy trinity.
