I'd love to have a bigger swingman on the roster because Mitchell is tiny. So far he's compensated with effort and wingspan, but what if at some point he finds his kryptonite and is getting regularly outplayed because of height. If we invested money in multiple 6'2 guards and that scenario happened, we'd be ****ed and Rudy's rim protection would be greatly diminished.
Mitchell has struggled trying to guard Jimmy Butler and Demar DeRozan. Right now, the Jazz would probably put Ingles, Crowder or O'Neale on those bigger guards and wings. This is one of the reasons why the Jazz apparently like Exum next to Mitchell though, since Exum can guard up a couple positions and play both on and off the ball.

Mikal Bridges seems to make a lot of sense for us if he somehow falls. I think we need a long 3/smallish 4.
Maybe we trade up 6-8 spots by taking on bad salary next year. Don’t even think it’s financially feasible but I don’t know.

DeMar is 3/7 against Mitchell, and 2 of those makes where 3's.

Diallo’s struggles is exactly why Anfernee Simons should declare. Better to strike while the hype is high instead of risking getting picked apart by bad film.
The first game the Jazz played vs. Toronto DeRozon went off for 37 points. He burned Mitchell several times, including a 4-pt play. I'm looking at the link and it said he only had 8 possessions. I'm sure there had to be more than that. Nonetheless, giving up scores 3 times in 8 possessions isn't ideal.
Demar hit some lucky 3's against Mitchell, two to be exact. He didnt burn him. Donovan played teh scouting report. DeRozan never lit him up or burnt him.

Seriously? It was his 9th game. He wasn’t even starting yet at that point, and Donovan barely had him.
Jingles and Thabo spent the majority of the time guarding DeRozan in that game and Jingles and O’Neale drew him the most in the 2nd matchup.
I’m shocked that a legitimate NBA All Star known for his offense would have success against a rookie in limited opportunities.
Donovan still has a long ways to go as a defender. All rookies do. Plus, I think that he’ll ultimately end up as the team’s PG of the future. . . in which case, his size and length are ideal.

I can see someone like Jimmy be an issue, I guess Klay Thompson or Paul George could be as well. I'm also not worried about Donovan's defense in those instances. It's just that if someone big got Mitchell it means we need to try changing coverages and put bigger guys on that dude. So that means Donovan will slide down to harass the Point Guard and we'll try to hide the Point Guard on a weak wing. Right now Rubio's pretty tall for a PG(Probably 6'4-6'5 in shoes) and it's working probably well enough in most cases. But if I look at stronger playoff teams:
If Klay Thompson shoots over Donovan, it means we need Ingles/Crowder on Klay and Donovan goes after Curry. So Rubio is left with Durant or Iggy depending how much they stretch the floor at the time. While Iggy would work, Rubio on Durant in large lineups would seem questionable...
In the case of the Wolves it should be a similar problem: Butler overpowering Mitchell means Crowder will probably take his place, Donovan goes after Teague and Rubio is stuck on Wiggins, which shouldn't be too bad when you look at his shooting issues but neither good.
Teams like the Thunder who have 1 weak link on the wing are easier to manage. Donovan on Westbrook, Rubio on Roberson playing free safety and Ingles guards George. I bet there's probably a couple more teams who have a really strong wing rotation and could be a problem. The true issue I foresee is if we part from Rubio and draft another guard who's 6 - 6'2. I mean you still want the guy because he's most likely the best talent the scouts identified in the draft, but that could complicate things when it comes to defending the very best teams backcourts. That's why I think a playmaking 2/3 or 4 is the best positional fit.
Knox continues to develop as a scorer.
To me NWG screams Olivier Hanlan type that we will likely let go unless he shows out in SL. For what it's worth I think he might be a back up plan(for third string PG) in case Neto wants to pursue other options.

Still one of my favorite under the radar players. So insanely athletic in the open court, just look at his block at 3:45. He makes those kind of defensive plays in transition every game, whether its a chase down block or getting a steal against 2-on-1 fastbreaks. I watched this game live, Davis made so many game winning plays down the stretch and in OT on defense. He won the game at the end by blocking an open layup for Missouri.
He is kind of having a disappointing year, but I think it's mainly because Ole Miss's team has two big men and 6 combo guards for their rotation. He has to play PF a lot even though he is a 6'3 SG. Just doesnt get the ball enough and when he does, he has kind of forced it too much.
He's just a monster in transition, look at this dunk
Even in this game, which was a bad game for him, he made a lot of really great plays, just didnt finish them (a lot of easy misses).

I'm not a big fan of unskilled low Bball IQ guys. The chance that they turn the lights on and develop in 4 years is low... rather get those guys on their second contract.
