Return of the Mack: Magic @ Jazz 3/5/2018 7:00 pm MST

Hopefully this lights a fire under the team for Wednesday.

I just finished watching the game and a couple things became clear to me

1) QS owes his dealer a lot of money

2) his dealer made a lot of money betting that QS would be ejected tonight

Seriously who gets ejected up by 10 against a lottery team with less than a minute to go in the game? weird :/

I think Quin was pissed about the Jazz getting called for a couple phantom offensive calls. When Orlando clearly committed one that was a no call, quin got pissed and the ref ignored him.

Won't be surprised if that ref is never seen again.

On a somber note. Our bench has been horrendous, they have to be better. Every one of them lately.

He dead.

The ref turned his back then gave him a tech... didn’t acknowledge him except the tech... then Snyder lost his **** and I really enjoyed it.

As a whole are players and coaches are really respectful... I don’t think it gets us anything. It’s the whiny guys that spend every other play trying to trick them that get the benefit of the doubt.

Games like this make the "Mitchell is the leader of the Jazz" narrative seem grossly ill informed. The guy is a talented scorer and will be a big part of the NBA moving forward - but FFS when will Gobert get his due (in the media and the NBA 'world').

PS - I did start a thread about potentially trading Gobert for a Celtics pacakge around Tatum - but that was only in the context of blowing the team up. I am starting to think that Gobert and Embiid are about the only true centres that can hang in through this basketball evolution.

PPS - How about that Tim Duncan impersonation off glass?! Thank thing was niceeee

Jerebko did pretty well tonight. Crowder is still acclimating himself. He’s exceeded expectations so far (by a lot IMO). And O’Neale seems to have slowed down from his hot month during the win streak. Even though he’s older, he’s still a rookie. Hopefully he can fight through it and continues to be a key player for the stretch run. Burks and Neto have not been awesome and Exum (who I have high hopes for) is still MIA. Losing Thabo, Hood and Joe Jesus hurts, but they’re finding a way to win anyways. Hopefully there’s some improvement from the bench here as the games tighten up.

Mitchell needs to shoot about 10,000 step back 3s this off season. It's just not something he'll reliably have this season.

In Mitchell development time, he should have that down by St. Patrick's Day. What else do you need him to do?

To be fair, Mitchell drawing so much attention has been great for Gobert and Ingles. Teams have completely gameplanned around our rookie. That makes me giggle just a little bit.

Crowder is exceeding expectations?

I mean, I like the guy and he seems to make winning plays, but he is hurting the offense with his efficiency. He is doing worse statistically than he did in Cleveland. Over the last 5 games he is shooting 31% from the field and 28% from 3. He is definitely someone the Jazz need to improve in that area if they want to beat playoff teams.

As to the point that this .is Goberts team...who was the only jazz player willing to go after quin during his meltdown and followed him to the tunnel?

I feared for his life, but Spida took care of coach when no one else could.
