Jazz 2017/18 Playoff Bus! All Aboard!

I’m feeling great about our chances to slide into the playoffs. Would be even more fantastical if Denver didn’t.

The Nuggets proving they are a terrible road team once again. It's gonna cost them a playoff spot.
Your comment prompted me to take a closer look. Denver has only won eleven games on the road, that's only one more than either the Kings or Suns. Oh, and after they play Detroit at home they play seven straight away games.

*Thursday* is going to be a good day. Let's climb to the 7th spot.
Clippers @ Rockets
Pelicans @ Spurs

Pistons @ Nuggets
Suns @ Jazz
Cavs @ Blazers

Standings right now:
3 Blazers 41-26
4 Thunder 41-29
5 Pelicans 39-28
6 Twolves 40-29
7 Clippers 37-29
8 Jazz 38-30
9 Spurs 38-30
10 Nuggets 37-31

LAC has zero chance I think. They'll lose 6 out of their next 8.

A key factor will be HOU / GSW ranking. They have a lot of games left vs playoff contenders and when the ranking is final or GSW entirely stops trying to move up and simply rest their players (which is likely) they'll lose their games.

Something a Benedict lead team could never have done.

It blows me away how potent we have been offensively.

A fair portion of this has been Rubio kicking up his shooting. When he's hitting for league averages from his spot, we're bestial. Defenders can't slack off of him as much. Gobert's return adds a surprising amount of efficiency on the blocks and Favors (bless this man) has been trying to add some corner 3s this year (he's actually 43% for march, believe it or not). Add Jingles, Crowder, and Mitchell who are legitimate downtown threats, and you get the idea.

According to ESPN BPI thingy generator - Jazz > 83% for making playoffs. Sounds about right.
Same index says Jazz have a 0.2% chance of winning it all. That sounds too harsh...

For a championship we do. Houston and GSW are a whole new level.

So a superstar in Mitchell, and an all star caliber player in Gobert isn't enough? I think we just need another shooter. Whether that is a stretch 4, or someone coming off the bench replacing Burks. If DM improves, and Exum is back and playing well....I think we are at their level. Lots of factors to play in, but I really like our roster. With an elite center, 3 pt shooter, stacked bench, and rookie superstar...we can't be far behind.

No, it isn't enough. We need a 3rd. Look at GSW 4 all stars.

And the Jazz destroyed them in January.

Oddly, I'm beginning to think we match up well with GSW as it stands. Our next two matchups will see where we're at really. But that said, this team is very well balanced and dangerous on both sides of the floor. The key will be Rubio keeping his shooting up.

If Crowder/Ingles can contain KD in the slightest, we have a chance. I like the rest of the matchups.

Key is using Rudy and Favs to get them in foul trouble early.
