Jazz 2017/18 Playoff Bus! All Aboard!

Some fantastic games happening this weekend:

Tomorrow:
LAC @ OKC

Saturday:
Rockets @ Pelicans
Denver @ Memphis (Memphis snapping losing streak with this game, calling it now)
Minnesota @ San Antonio

Sunday:
OKC @ Toronto
Boston @ New Orleans
Houston @ Minnesota
Portland @ LAC

I legit don't know who to root for in those weekend matchups between teams 3-10 in the west. LAC vs. OKC? Can they both just lose somehow?

Easy. I’m rooting for the Clips to find themselves totally out of it. We’ll still likely catch OKC, but there’s still some tough games on the schedule. Jazz position in the playoffs is not secure by any means. I want the Spurs, Pelicans, Clippers and Nuggets to lose as many games as possible all the way through the end of the year.

Every team we pass I would rather win than a team in front of us.

I’m confident we can stay ahead of teams, but it’s been tough for teams in front of us to lose.

3) COTY : 1 Casey 43% 2 Snyder 36% 3 Stevens 15% 4 Popovich 6%

NBC sports polls :
1) ROY : 1 Mitchell 61% 2 Simmons 29% 3 The field 4%
2) DPOY : 1 Gobert 61% 2 Embiid 21% 3 Green 10% 4 Horford 8%

The fish stinks from the head down. Meddling owner, ******* of a coach, terrible GM's. Team on the rise under Hornacek, then he was given an unmanageable roster and blamed for it. They're the dirtiest team in the league. I wish for a Sacramento-like existence for Phoenix for the next 20 years.
No votes for D'Antoni?

Jazz now have a better record than the 76'ers. They're the East's 6th seed right now as opposed to Jazz at 7th in WC. Have to think Jazz on the playoffs with a better record (if it holds true) would boost Mitchell's chances.

Also record with/without Gobert and the team defense stats have to give Gobert a real shot at DPOY. Of course, it helps that he was injured during Utah's brutal December schedule. Not sure how many of those games we would have won even had he been healthy.

Remember how hard everyone tanked for that pick? He was consensus #1 in a draft that was being touted as the strongest in years. Watching this stuff unfold has cured me forever of the desire to tank. There are better ways to build a team.

The best players on this team were picked at 13 and 27. How do you get picks like that without tanking?

This.
