After a win in Big D, the Jazz travel four hours south on I-35 to San Antonio, Texas, to take on the aging Spurs.
After tonight, the Jazz will have faced the Spurs four times this year on back-to-backs. With a win tonight, the Jazz would secure a season-series sweep for the first time since the 1993-1994 season, where the Jazz went 5-0 against the Spurs and knocked them off 3-1 in the first round of the post-season, back when they were in the Alamo Dome:
The 93-94 Spurs featured the Worm:
At the time, he was dating Madonna. She even was present in one of their games at the Delta Center that year, which created some mild community buzz.
For Utah, this was also the year of Luther Wright.
He logged one minute against the Spurs that season, but I'm sure he was key for the impressive 5-game sweep.
The next year, the Jazz replaced Wright with this guy, who played for the Spurs in 93-94:
After retiring from basketball, he formed a bluegrass Pink Floyd cover band called Luther Wright and the Wrongs:
But the Jazz had another musical artist on the roster that year with David Benoit:
The rookie year of this 9-year Jazz man:
Also the year of the Jeff-for-Jeff swap:
Donovan-led teams look to go undefeated tonight.
Jazz were 6-16 against SAS in the Hayward era.
La bataille de France:
The battle of Australia:
¡La batalla de Español!:
Hopefully @The Fresh Prince is in attendance.
