What's new

T -3.5 hours to tip off and no game thread -- Jazz @ Mavs 6:30 pm MST

Oh, i don't think we have to worry about that. You should be more concerned with finding a good way to watch the Chinese league so you can continue to follow him next year.

Wow. So you literally are going to give him 50 minutes back to decide his fate next year?
Or are you just being like cool and funny and all that..

Come on. I get why it’s fun to tweak the homers of guys like Kanter and Exum, but do you really think that A.) the Jazz won’t extend or match a contract offer?
Or B.) think nobody else will want him either?

I think there’s very few scenarios that don’t involve Exum being back in Utah next year. He might not have lived up to his draft position, but he’s still an NBA player. Even if his career arc is nothing more than Shaun Livingston, he’ll be in the NBA for awhile - likely with the Jazz for a good part of that.

No, he doesnt need to show anything now. Hes just getting his legs underneath him. Seruously, do all you anti-Exum posters expect Dante to be at 100% after missing the entire year to date?

He was fantastic in summer league. No reason to not expect he can get back to that level after another summer of work.

At worst, he'll be a huge upgrade over Neto for 15 mins per. At best, he gets 25-30 mins as a combo guard and allows Mitchell and Rubio to get some additional rest.

I could be wrong, but I dont see any team giving him an outrageous contract offer. I think he'll be back with the Jazz,

I'm not going to get all hot and excited about a lottery pick going into his fourth year that was "fantastic" in the summer league. BFD - he should be fantastic.

The Jazz need to be careful - they have a unique situation on their hands where they have a guy on the verge of becoming a star in this league that will be under a middle of the road rookie contract for 3 more years after this. This is literally like hitting the salary cap lottery. They have to be careful about filling the roster around him.

I'm not saying cut the guy loose; but they can't be blowing significant cap space on a 5th year maybe either.

Was your previous handle "green"?

Also for those beating up on DM please chill. His 3 point shooting has fallen off but if he’s hitting the three at 37/38 percent going forward he is an absolute monster. He’s scoring 20-25 points almost every night without his shot... it’s impressive and will only get better.

He just isnt that good mate.

Jabari Parker came back from his 2nd ACL injury and started getting buckets right away.

Dante just isnt a guy who is going to get buckets. Hopefully he can just play some D and not make too many mistakes.

Embiid missed two straight years, came back on serious minutes restrictions, and looked amazing.

No player shows next to nothing for 4 years then suddenly becomes a super star.

less than 10 minutes playing time for Exum.
Please don't resign with the Jazz Dante,
unless.you want more tortures.

Maybe you didn't catch the comments by pop about Kawhi a few weeks ago, but he basically said they were reaching the point where it might be too late in the season to introduce another player, because it takes time for the team to adjust. And this is an MVP level player we are talking about. When Kawhi tried to come back in the middle of the season, the spurs were playing worse and losing.

Once a team builds chemistry and gets into a routine, it's hard to bring in a new player because it throws things off. Utah is fighting for playoff position right now, and just doesn't have the luxury of giving Dante a ton of minutes to get acclimated right now. Sucks for him, but that's just the reality of the situation. Certainly not something to bitch about as if he's getting a raw deal.

On the other hand, the comments about Dante needing to show something right now are utterly ridiculous. Still Lmao over the Jabari comment. Fans have had unrealistic expectations of Exum since the day he was drafted as a project, so I guess there's no reason for that to change now. He will be fine once he gets a chance to play with the same freedom Mitchell got this year, but it probably doesn't happen until next season, unless someone comes down with an injury.

You know what Summer League is, right?

You know what Summer League is, right?

Wait, wait, can I answer?

Summer league is that period when Donovan Mitchell kicked serious *** and some people said it meant nothing because it was summer league.

Yep, summer league.

Also, let's not ignore that Dante looked really good in limited minutes down the stretch of last season. If we hadn't been trying to keep douchewad Hayturd, maybe we could have been patient with Exum like we were able to this year with Mitchell when he was chucking bricks and turning the ball over.
