"The shooting marks the 150th time a child has been injured or killed by gun violence in 2018"

Well done USA. Keep leading all world in gun related children death/accidents by insurmountable margin.
And gun lovers, please do not tell me this will never happen to you because you practice better gun safety. The only real gun safety is - zero guns at home.

You're welcome to move to another country if you haven't already. Dare I say, bye Felicia?

I remember something similar years ago, with kids around the same age playing cowboys and indians with a real gun.

But gun safety would prevent this...

Just saying. All of my guns are locked up, with the magazine or clip removed, the removed magazine or clip being empty, and none of my kids know the combination. Heck, my wife doesn't even know the combination. So it's not illogical to say that gun safety would've prevented this.

Still a terrible tragedy, and the blame goes on the parents.

But guns dont kill people. Clearly, the 5 yr old and the parents need to be executed or spend the rest of their lives in prison.

I would NEVER, EVER have a hand gun in the house with children. I dont hunt, but id make an exception for rifles in a locked safe, only taken out for hunting. But too many rednecks love to play with their substitute ***** for even that to be safe. I have an ex father-in-law who loves to show off his fake manhood whenever he can. And i wouldnt trust all to be unloaded.

Someone can post the lives saved/lost by those carrying or having guns in their homes vs. lives lost to accidents and even questionable stand your ground cases.

From these accidents between children, to kids stealing guns from parents to use, to crimes of passion and heat of the moment suicides.

Ill be honest..i wouldnt be alive today had I had access to a gun as a teenager. Dont tell me I would have just found another way to kill myself. I didnt. And if i ever have young children, i seriously doubt I would ever have a gun in my house.

How does it protect your family from intruder then? Lets say somebody breaks in your house when you are not at home.... your wife will be calling you to ask the safe combination to unlock it and then ask how to load the magazine? By that time it's too late.

lol. USA is nice country to visit, but to live there and fit it you must be either gun or bible lover - and I am neither.

Laws certainly help prevent crime and chaos, but it certainly doesn't stop it.

It reduces it to miniscule amounts though - children injured or killed by guns in Japan number is lower in 100 years ( excluding wars) by 10X than in 3 month in USA.

That Australian comedian that got into it with the gun nuts in the US had a great bit on this.

Can't think of his name at the moment.
