What's new

What do you want the Jazz lineup to look like next year?

So we're gonna hope Jimmer for some magical reason follow the same path as a player who really didn't even play much like him in college? Nash was more of a passer than Jimmer,

even in college. So regardless of the fact that they weren't that similar in college, and Nash is one of the only players ever to develop so late in his career...we expect Jimmer to do the same? C'mon man.

Did you watch Nash in college?

Harris Fredette Watson
Hayward CJ
AK (for about 6 million) Evans
Millsap Favors, Okur
Jefferson Kanter Cousin

Nash is a much better comparison than Billups. Great shooter, and not the fastest guy on the court. I would be surprised if Jimmer ever became half the player of Nash. But if he could learn to pass and use his scoring and shooting ability to set up his teamates he could be a legitimate starter in a few years. I still don't want him at 12. He is not ready for that role right now and by the time he is he may be on his 2nd team like Nash was.

We'll have Harris for 2 more years - is that enough time for you?

Found it. I'm reposting it here 'cause it seems relevant to the direction the thread has taken.

Nash.........6' 3" ..................... 2 time MVP
Price.........6' 0" ..................... 4 time all star
Fredette....6' 2" ..................... yeah, we know.

The jury's out whether Fredette can follow the same path as Nash in regards to running an offense, but their starting points are very similar. I understand people labeling him a chucker, but look at his FG%. It's better than Nash's. Inferior to Price's. If Fredette can come close to either of these guys @ 12 it's worth the gamble.

1st no guarantee that Harris is here the entire time. And I would be more interested in getting our future PG next year if we don't draft Knight or Walker.

2nd I would only be interested if he develops which I still really doubt. I just don't see Jimmer being more than a backup Pg. I want more than potential backups from a lottery pick. I want guys with the talent and skills to potentially be a starter/borderline all star. I don't see that from Fredette.

Deron Williams/Ty Lawson/Ronnie Price
Eric Gordon/Manu Ginobili/Ronnie Price
Kevin Durant/Shane Battier
Tim Duncan/Brook Lopez
Dwight Howard/Brook Lopez/Jarron Collins

We'd still lose to the Heat in the Finals...

Why not:
Deron/Westbrook/Price
Wade/Hayward/Miles
LeBron/Derrick Williams
Dirk/Bosh/Favors/Sap
Dwight/AJ/Kemba Walker/Any 7 year old girl/Kanter

I've seen highlights, read about him, and have a general basketball knowledge. Just looked up stats - Nash averaged 6.4 and 6.0 apg his last 2 years in school. Did Jimmer even pass the ball 6 times last year?

Post #70 on page 5 of this thread I posted their college stats.
Fredette averaged 4.7 and 4.3 assists in his junior and senior years.

Maybe you're exaggerating for effect, but it makes it hard to take the things you say seriously.
