I'll take DM at 30 over Hayward's 17 from last year every day of the week.
He's not only just a scorer, you idiot!don't know he's only a scorer
This is laughable, I have no problem where u rank Mitchell, but Covington in your top grouping?? Hayward?? He played all of two min this year, and Conley?? Pretty much the same as Hayward, and you can add Leonard in that category too. You're either an idiot, or an idiot, and last but not least possibly an idiot!!I guess you can use any criteria you want for 'best player'.
If best player has any links to impact on winning basketball games I think there are a few more people on this list. Mind you, DM's potential to rise up this list is real.
Currently 'better' than Mitchell (no particular order) and in ADDITION to the ones you listed (Minus Beal):
Khawi
Covington
Simmons
Cousins
Draymond
Gobert
Jokic
Lowry
Otto Porter
KAT
Kemba
George (despite crappy latter part of season)
Conley
Jrue
Hayward
I think he is in the same ballpark already as the players listed below - probably have him at the top of this list and projects to be better than all of them within 5 minutes in anycase.
Porzingis (?)
Love
Blake Griffin
Deandre Jordan
Ingles
Klay Thompson
Marc Gasol
Beal
Eric Gordon
Wall
Rubio
Middleton
Van Fleet
Devin Booker
Horford
Olynyk
Garry Harris
Tobias
And ahead of these guys:
Wiggins
Saric
Nurkic
Roberson
Adams
Capela
Dragic
CJ
Jamal Murray
Kuzma
Tatum
Dennis Smith Jnr (easily)
Schroder
Ingram
Randle
Ball
Harrison Barnes
Hood
So all in all I have him at 31.
I found it interesting that on WINS he is ranked 32. And many of the people I had ahead of him were ahead of him on Win Shares. Not sure how great that stat is, but it matched with my 'eye' test and glance at other stats. The only players I had ahead of him that were not ahead of him on WINS were Kyrie and Rudy.
I estimate him to be top 15 within 18 months.
I have Mitchell in the 20-25 range Gobert top ten who in your top 11-15 affect a game the way Gobert does, or as much. I might go as far to say he's the #1 center in the league right now.#25-30.
Rudy definitely top 15 if not top 10.
You included Cousins in your above him because of impact on winning? LOL
He's not only just a scorer, you idiot!

Why the hell do you not consider players who are injured?
You think Leonard and Hayward should just be put on some **** player list. You do realise they are both max players already?
Covington is perhaps the most underrated player in the league. Will be all team defense. Advanced stats absolutely love him. According to RPM he is a top 10 player.
Love your wit btw ...
Look at the title, this year it says, we are basing it off what players have done this year.
I love covington's game, but come on he's not on that level. lol I don't care about advanced stats. People rely on them too much instead of actually watching them play. It's a lazy way to analyze a player because they don't want to do all the prep work it takes to know how a player plays, because all they do is look at box scores

I was repsonding to David Stern - but in the context of your thread you are right. Congrats!
I don't worship advanced stats either. But often they match the eye test.
Covington is better than you think clearly. But, I wouldn't be dismayed if you and others thought Mitchell was better.
For me, at this exact point in time, Covington has a bigger impact on winning basketball games than Mitchell.
It's not ok that u think Covington is better then Mitchell IMO Thinking like that gets u in a padded room

Defense matters bro....
And he is a streaky shooter that can load up.
The fact you think it's a no contest says a bit about what you value in a player.
As far as role players and glue guys go he's a star, but not on the level of an LBJ, Durant, DeRozen and so on. Are u telling me if it was your choice between Mitchell or Covington for this team, you'd pick Covington? For the record, 100% of GM's would pick Mitchell

Lol - hell no. But that is a different question. I wouldn't pick the top 5 players in the NBA as my starting 5 either.
In terms of who has had a bigger impact on winning this year - it is very close. This is likely to be the last year that could be said.
And tbh, you may have talked me into it. Mitchell might be the 30th best player in the league - not 31st.
Btw many GMs no **** all about who to pick. At the start of this season they basically agreed that KAT was the one player you would sign today to build a franchise around. That is despite the fact he had an historically awful defensive season.
For the most part when the Jazz play the team Cousins is on. I don't want him getting in foul trouble or missing for injury. Because his teams are better without him. He's a lot like Crymello in that way.Bona fide two way player - but I get your point about him never having had success.
I thought this year was a bit different - but his net ratings weren't great.
So yeah fair point.
Hollinger's Value Added top 50 rankings include 3 Jazz Players:
38. Gobert
48. Mitchell
He's not only just a scorer, you idiot!
uh .. just checking if this was a serious reply or not.
lol never quite sure .. i would have thought my comment was pretty obviously quoting Ben DouchebagIt is. At least half of this forum lack any ability to detect sarcasm.
