PlayStation Network is scheduled to undergo maintenance today, from about 8am until approximately 5pm Pacific time. During this time, registration and Account Management will be inaccessible, including the password reset process. While some users may experience difficulty signing in to PSN, the majority of consumers will be able to play online as well as sign in to external sites that require PSN authentication (like this one).

For those asking about the PlayStation Store, we’re still targeting restoration of all services by the end of this month. Contrary to reports, the Store will not be publishing today.

*sigh*, the rumor of the early store return was just that, a rumor. but of course sony didn't let people know that until now..

i think i'm done with sony..i don't care anymore

I was probably gonna drop around 50$ in Rock Band songs if the store was up, because I just picked up the keyboard and the songs from RB3 were getting old.

And yes I know that rock band is so 3 years ago... but my aspirations of being a rock star, despite having no talent, need to be subdued.

You probably won't be able to buy the songs you want immediately. I hear they are going to have 2 releases a week to try to catch up to the current DLC.

Yeah, it felt like it wasn't much longer than the original... but the original wasn't a stand-alone $60 game. There is the co-op mode, which is a different campaign entirely, but I still wish the whole thing was longer. Hopefully there'll be some DLC levels that are free or at least not overly expensive.

this press release just hit the wire – PlayStation Store and related services (like voucher redemption) back this week:

Tokyo, May 31, 2011 – Sony Corporation and Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) announced today that Sony Network Entertainment International (SNEI, the company) will fully restore all PlayStation®Network services in the Americas, Europe/PAL territories and Asia, excluding Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea by the end of this week. The company will also resume Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity™ for PlayStation®3 (PS3®), PSP® (PlayStation®Portable), VAIO and other PCs. Details for Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea as well as the remaining services on Qriocity will be announced as they become available.

the only reason i care is i still have some money left on a card that i need to use. after i use it i doubt i'll spend anymore... only use the store to d/l new game demo's, which as far as i know is the only way to get them for PS3

I mean... damn what have those guys been doing for a month? Are they just total morons? You've gotta tell me that they have at least one guy who deals with preventing hacks. They make it so hard to crack the system and torrent games (which I don't do, but I do know how to), some college kids with a ransom note and a linux computer completely overhaul the system???

I think they've been too busy doing damage control, to actually fix the ****ing problem. Sony stock has only fallen like 7 percent, since they acknowledged the hacker.
 
apparently the store is finally back up but people keep complaining about error messages and the free stuff isn't even up yet..sigh
 
Ya... these damn error messages... its like... if your gonna fix the problem... fix the problem. Don't just lay out a piece of **** "store" that can't really do anything. I'll wait the extra day if I need to.
 
Anyone know if the MW2 map pack has an expiration? I bought it about a year ago and recently got sick of Black Ops so I went back to MW2 and I never play the new maps. Seems like I only play the same 3 maps over and over again. It's annoying.
 
They should still be available KWB. I had to re-download mine bout a week before the network crash and no issues.
 
i got through last night and downloaded a couple demo's and the LA Noire DLC, if you get error messages just keep trying and eventually it should go through. obviously a lot of people will be on the network so it will have some problems.
 
welcome back package officially up, looks like i'll have to clear up some hard drive space i got a old 60GB one
