Chad Ford on Utah Jazz picks and Jimmer

From the draft blog today a few selected paragraphs and points since not everyone has Insider:

The Jazz are seriously looking at Kentucky's Brandon Knight and UConn's Kemba Walker with the No. 3 pick in the draft. If they take either player, it's highly unlikely they'd draft Fredette at No. 12. If they decide to go with someone like Enes Kanter or Jan Vesely at No. 3, then Fredette will be in play at No. 12, according to sources.

As we first reported two weekends ago, Jazz personnel are flying to Chicago June 3 to do a two-day meet-and-greet and workout with Kanter. If that goes really well, Jimmer moves more into the Jazz's picture at No. 12. If it doesn't, they're going to have to fall in love with Jonas Valanciunas or Vesely (and I don't think they're in love with either player) for them to pass on Knight and Walker.

Not exactly breaking news other than Ford's impression of how the Jazz feel about Valanciunas and Vesely.

The article speculates that New York is a natural fit for Jimmer if he slides past the Jazz and Suns.

Ford also notes that among teams privately working out Kanter the Jazz are the first on the schedule and are getting first crack at him.

Vesely is literally the only player in the draft I would lose my **** if we picked at 3.

There is no way in hell they pick Vesely, and you know it.

The biggest shocker we'd get would be Knight. I still believe Kanter is the man unless they trade down.
Too much pressure on KOC to get this right. He goes for the sure thing like Cleveland, and the Twolves do before us.
In the end the first 3 picks won't shock or stun at all. They rarely do.

I would have to add Kemba to that list as well. After all this, if we ended up with Kemba Walker at 3 I'd feel like I was kicked in the stomach.

i don't have to be pro NBA writer to know that having 3rd pick team need to "seriously looking" at top prospects like Kemba and Brandon.

i will be very surprise if JAZZ won't draft KANTER and than Jimmer.

I do think 3 is to high for Vesely, but i think a lot of Jazzfanz underestimate him. He is like a 60% Fg shooter and can get up like few others can. Probably be able to come in and help a team right away.

I think it's starting to become fairly obvious that Kanter is the pick assuming he falls to 3 (which I think he will). I also feel that had Kanter suited up for Kentucky this past season he would be the consensus #1 so I think Utah is extremely lucky to be in position to take him.

KOC has preached the best player available mentality since the Jazz landed @ 3. If he's being honest with that, then there is NO WAY the Jazz take Kemba Walker @3 because regardless of who goes 1 and 2, it's just not possible for Kemba to be the best player available when Utah picks.

I also am starting to feel like Singleton is almost a lock @12 if he is on the board and Utah keeps the pick. If he's off the board, I honestly believe that Utah's next choice is Jimmer.

Yeah, as vanilla as it may sound I'm thinking it's probably Kanter and Jimmer. But I like that. Vanilla's underrated.
