9 people killed, 16 injured in van incident in Toronto

And 4 more people shot in Waffle House by mental dude in Tennessee. What is the most sad part that he was known to have issues and had multiple run ins with law enforcement before. Why he was not in mental hospital locked away from public???

"There's certainly evidence that there's some sort of mental health issues involved," Tazewell County Sheriff Robert Huston said. But he said deputies returned the guns to Reinking's father on the promise that he would "keep the weapons secure and out of the possession of Travis."
Reinking's father "has now acknowledged giving them back" to his son, Aaron said.

His father and deputies now have blood of 4 innocent people on their hands. How multiple people can be so stupid?

Guns getting in the hands of mentally unstable people happens regularly (I would be surprised if it were not several times a day). Very few of them go on to kill other people. It's hard to tell who will and who won't.

Well, his father got those guns back on the condition that he will keep them secure and out of his sons possession. He admitted that he gave them back. He is as much guilty as the mental son who pulled the trigger.

I'm not disagreeing. I'm just saying that I can understand why the father would not realize his son would kill anyone.

We've got two in the locked ward at work at the moment, one stabbed a couple of people in a night club on the weekend, the other made a shiv on the ward and tried to stab a nurse on the weekend. We try to drum it into staff about thinking about safety and potential weapons they introduce into the environment. The day after talking to them, they're giving metal cutlery to psychotic patients.

I used to work in the states forensic prison, I now work at our major trauma center but we also have 50 psychiatric beds, 80 to 90 percent of my work is with IV drug users.

what about that idiot father giving those guns back to his son that everyone in the family were concerned about his irrational behavior and considered delusional - -
Yeah, I think he needs to face some serious charges.
