A matchup I’ve been waiting for. Houston has spent the season getting drunk on their own hype. We got swept by them in the regular season. Make no mistake, beneath their false confidence, there’s plenty of fear of their own personal post-season failures (Paul, D’Antoni, and Harden), but they don’t think it’s happening with us. Mentally, they’re looking ahead to GSW, for that’s what they’re nervous about. They see themselves as having been rested while we’re on a pseudo back-to-back. They’ll be over looking us out the gate.

On the flip side, OKC was a tough series as, though we were technically underdogs, we knew we were at least on their level, and we had a lot of pressure to take them down. We now have no pressure and should come out loose. I think we’ve got a good chance of stealing both Houston games if we stick with it. They’ll drop the first one looking past us. They’ll drop the second convincing themselves it was a huge fluke, by the third and fourth losses, they’ll lose because they won’t be playing to win, but playing afraid and playing to not lose. D’Antoni will have no idea how to respond when Quin gets him in some uncomfortable places.

Wait until Ryan Anderson and James Harden get roughed up by Crowder, Jerebko, and O’Neale.

Rubio out will shake things up for the first couple games and throw a fork in D’Antoni’s game plan. Having O’Neale on Harden out the gate will be great.

Jazz in 6.

Who else is ready to watch 48 minutes of flopping. Chris Paul, Harden and the rest the D'antoni's fools.
If the refs let Gobert and Mitchell play the Jazz will steal game 1.

Also this series will determine what kind of contract Exum will receive this offseason. I wonder how he'll play.

Walk Like A Nigerian.

Not saying that any Jazz fan has ever been racist or said racist **** to players but songs like this for sure don't help. In my opinion.

But Hakeem did travel like a muttha****a

Can Mitchell keep going absolutely insane? He’s now being forced into a distributing role. After averaging 2.7 assists last series he’s going to have to average 5+, and needs to be making accurate passes all game long.

Kid can’t catch a break his rookie year. But hey, nothing would surprise me at this point.

This is a super tough game with the quick turnaround. My goal is not to overreact to game 1. Might be ugly.

Per game in the playoffs:

Mitchell vs Harden this year
PPG
28.5 vs 29
FG%
46.2% vs 41.1%
Rebounds
7.2 vs 4.8
Assists
2.7 vs 7.4
TOV
2.7 vs 2.8

Harden has more assists but Mitchell is better in a lot of other categories. Who has the better stats for this series? Mitchell has been amazing so far, he has been nearly one of the best players in the NBA this post season. He is averaging the 5th most ppg just behind Harden and ahead of Durant.

We’re going to steamroll these guys.

Yeah that song is problematic af.

Definitely going to try not to read too much into what happens this afternoon. We'll be playing with little rest after a pretty exhausting series and little time to institute a game plan.

I'm also not putting too much stock into how the season series went, 3 of the 4 games were played in 2017, we're a better team than we showed in those games.

I'm interested to see if we get better offensive performances from Gobert than we did against OKC. Capela is a good player but he doesn't have anywhere near the physicality of Steven Adams.
