Following Potential 2018 Draftees

I never really followed Tony for the Jazz draft. Is he usually pretty accurate with his predictions or insider knowledge? He seems to be for the Jazz as a whole, so I assume he is for the draft as well. Gotta wait for Locke to do his draft vids, that dude says way too much lol. Made videos gushing over Burks in 2011, Gobert in 2013, Lyles in 2015, said he didn't like anyone in 2016 and we ended up trading out, and loved Mitchell last year. In 2014 he gushed over Aaron Gordon, so I'm convinced we were gonna draft him if he was available.
He was WAY (years) ahead of the Kyle Kuzma hype train and spot on.

Well Huerter actually has enormous defensive potential. That's what sets him apart and makes him a good fit for Quin and the Jazz

There were a few blocks he had this season that ha me thinking 'I like watching Huerter play". Easily one of my favorite players in college. Gimmie Huerter over Grayson Allen anyday of the week.

After watching Golden State and Houston, my 3 off-season targets are:

Draft DonteD - he has the ability to play PG, SG and I believe some SF if we go small. If Gordon can play with Harden and Paul, why can't Rubio, Mitchell and Donte all play together at times? Donte is a complete player. All the intangibles. If you watch the combine footage, the guy just makes basketball plays with and without the ball.

Keep Exum - we need his defense. Even if his offense only marginally improves, his D is outstanding and should only get better.

Sign Hezonja - he is a dangerous offensive SF/PF who can switch defensively.

All 3 guys are 23 years old or less and fit our needs to address the current monster that is Golden State and the upcoming monster Boston. And all 3 guys could be on contracts making less than $10 million per year each.

Theres a report floating that the Kings and Hawks may pass on Doncic for college bigs.

Possible smoke screen for sure. Ayton will go #1. The Kings are the team to watch, can they goad Memphis into trading up? I followed them closely this year cuz of a big bet on their win total, they were very comfortable not being in full throttle tank mode and with the 7 or 8 pick, plus they have no 2019 1st rd pick.

The people out there trying to marginalize the talent of Mo Bamba, JJJ and 6'11 Michael Porter Jr. in just a few sentences all sound dumb to me, i've yet to see an eloquent debunking of their potential that didnt seem like fantastic, untethered, grasping at straws, bs.

Furthermore I dont see how people here who've been watching Rudy for years really have anthing bad to say about Mo Bamba.. I'l have a grin ear to ear if the Kings take him 2nd thats a nice group of young bigs cuz WCS is gonna keep improving on offense.

I dont believe its smart to try and outgun the warriors u gotta beat em on the boards and bother them best you can defensively, this is the stage of the game for these other 29 teams. Mo Bamba is a potential diamond when u look thru this lens. If he goes #1 ill be on here defending it. Ayton projects to be a matchup nightmare but not really for Utah and whoever lands Mo, ive seen Mo outplay Ayton. Mo's extemely intelligent, off the charts for a kid in his position.

Its of extreme importance with Mo to realize the SCARCITY of his level of shotblocking in the coming drafts, its fair to say he's the best shotblocker in the next 7 drafts and he's probably a safe bet to be better than the top shotblocker every year after that.

Good ideas. Hezonja wont sign in Utah to be strictly a 6th man tho. Royce O'Neale exists.

We agree on an entire post, top to bottom.

He's a NY kid! Has some grit to him, he really was tested with a ton of high pressure 3's too. He's the type of shooter who really gets hot too, his release isnt quick but its effective, his makes often just touch the back of the rim and bouncing straight down. He's doing something right, defenders in his face knowing he's gonna pull the trigger and he's drilling em. Check the highlights from the syracuse game.

@Gilles de Rais Thanks

I think Hezonja wants minutes but I just don't see anywhere where he gets a starting spot. If we don't bring back Favors, we can easily sell him on the idea that the starting PF spot will be up for grabs and that before too long, Ingles will serve us best as a key part of the 2nd unit. Royce is best as our bench SG/SF whereas Hezonja is a PF/SF.

So Hezonja would have a chance to come to a soon to be contender, have a shot to play meaningful minutes and play for a quality coach who will maximize his skillset. I think we are a perfect fit for Hezonja.

Just watched a lot of Frazier this morning. I think he ends up being a first rounder.

Defensively he can potentially guard as many as 3 positions in the NBA today and nothing seems broken offensively. Can never have too many Royce’s?

Frazier at the Combine. He deflects pass after pass.

It's too bad he doesnt have a more developed/thicc physique or it could be 5 positions. He is a real skinny dude, so IDK how he will deal with the physicality of the NBA.

The thing that gives me pause on him is his jump shot. It's kind of ugly. He shot it well this year, but he cant really shoot off the move at all (not that big of a deal to be a good role player) and he shoots on the way down (which I would assume would lead to bad percentages with the farther back 3pt shot). If he was bigger, like 210-220, you could project him as a small ball 4 like a Jerami Grant, being 200 lbs at the combine when he turns 22 in August is kind of a worry.

Not Euroleague, and defense showed on Musa was pretty terrible here. But was a semi-final victory for his team:

Donte is going to be drafted in the top 25 maybe even top 20 or lotttery... He should come out. Yes, he could make more next year if he is drafted higher, but then again, starting his rookie contract this year means he gets to his big 2nd contract a year faster. And there is always risk going back to never make anything.

Should he stay Nova will be a major threat to repeat as national champs even if Spellman goes..

Can’t go out any stronger than he did though. Dominating the championship game like that. Take the money kid!

I was impressed with Carter's (west virginia) passing and he made a few outside shots. I wish the Jazz had a higher 2nd round pick because I think he could be a solid backup in the NBA.

Like what I saw out of Frazier, Josh Okogie and Donte. I would be happy with anyone of those guys.
