Following Potential 2018 Draftees

That's why I like the 21st pick tho, even if the draft turns out about as bad as it possibly could, the Jazz should still get a player I like.

My true nightmare is the Jazz draft Aaron Holiday or Jalen Brunson. Then I would be in a dark dark place.

The Jazz won't select a pure PG or a Center at 21. I'm pretty sure of that.

I think the Jazz would gladly draft Brown or KBD. They could also be won over by Okobo. If all three of them are gone, I could see them take Huerter, and I wouldn't be shocked if they took Frazier.

I hope they'll take a hard look at Simons too. His talent is legit.

He's really young and has an NBA body... good passer for a 3/4 combo. His shot isn't NBA ready, but it's not completely broken. If he turned into an average shooting Evan Turner that is a really good NBA player.

The odds of him turning into that are low though. He is a long ways away from that.

The kid who can’t shoot is a mid-class version of a legendary shooter?

His game is very similar, pending the shooting. I wouldn't say he can't shoot. He just needs to shoot better. He's a guy that always played PG, had the ball in his hands and got to the rim.

I’m biased, I don’t think there is anyone more down on him here than me.

Prolly... I’m not a huge fan... just explaining the appeal. I can see why some live him and some are meh.

Pierce was a career 37% 3-pt shooter. I'm betting Brown can get to 35% if he puts in the work. But that's what will make or break him as a player.

Saying “if they can just shoot better” is like saying “they just need to learn to defend”.

Pretty much every player needs to add one of these simple things to do well at the NBA level.

His problem isn’t that he just doesn’t shoot so well, it’s that on top of that, he doesn’t do anything of note well.

Outside of an “NBA body” what’s the interest here? Not a shooter, not an explosive athlete, meh defender. Open to being wrong....sell me on him.

I said all these same things about Hayward when we drafted him. Versatile 6'7" wings are valuable. Brown can do a bunch of things. I'll say this, I think he'll probably be a better player than Harrison Barnes when it's said and done. It's because he has good feel, IQ and some PG skills to go along with his size.

I really like this Okogie kid: http://www.basketballinsiders.com/nba-daily-josh-okogies-motor-is-pro-ready/

"For as much as he gets to the line, it’s apparent that Okogie attacks at will every time he gets the ball. When asked about what talents he’ll bring to the NBA, he narrowed his answer down to one thing and expanded upon a misconception regarding his skill set.

“My motor,” Okogie said at the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago. “When others get tired, I’m just starting. I like to pride myself on that and just keep going."
I love Josh Okogie. I’m not sure I’d take him at #21, but I’d easily look to trade up for him after that point. I’ve become a big fan of his. Ideally, the Jazz can get at least one wing to develop next to Mitchell and then either another guard or 3/4 type with upside.
