There's a difference between a guy who can shoot and a real shooter. A real shooter is a guy who pulls up from 27 feet on a fast break and drills a 3 at a high percentage.

There are a few guys on our shortlist that can do that, starting with Huerter, but including J. Robinson and Gary Trent. Possibly Simons and KBD too.

Definitely Simons, i double-dog dare anyone here to put on the shot doctor glasses and debunk his shooting motion as anything less than excellent. Grayson over Simons is preposterous.

So you would have avoided drafting Kawhi Leonard? Because Kawhi was a FAR worse shooter his freshman year in college and still just as bad his Sophomore year.

I see a path for Troy Brown to become comparable to Hayward or Jimmy Butler. That's a valuable player, a top 25 player potentially, but he has to shoot better and work on his lower body athleticism (core strength and explosion). It'll take a few solid years of development.

An argument can be made for drafting Anfernee Simons. His natural talent level is lottery-caliber. I just freaking wish he were a bit bigger. If he were 6'7", we'd be comparing him to TMac.

This years Terrance Ferguson. An NBA player.... in theory, but only theory. All that he has to do is improve everything, develop a single NBA skill, show a game that he doesn't yet have, and then he might be good enough to be a role player... maybe.
I know nothing about Terrance Ferguson, but what I do know is that every time he is mentioned I am unable to get this association out my head:

You need to lay off the helium. Ur gassing this kid up well beyond reason. There was once a vegas based poster here named vermin and we used to talk about Brown a handfull of years ago, i used to say he looked to have lottery talent, he was on the recruiting radar as a 5star player from a young age. He really flashed terrific vision /passing, beyond his years, in his mid teens. He projects as a jack of all trades, comparing him to players who are successful top scoring options in the nba is a gross mischaracterization.
