2018 Annual JazzFanz All-Time NBA Draft

not if i want to run and play small ball, he's a great running 5.

You don’t have a particularly fast team, and Grant wasn’t known as fast. Guys like Robinson and Olajuwon can handle quicker smaller C’s Grant wasn’t much of a ball handler or runner, not a problem for most of these bigger C’s

His twin Harvey was also smaller then His bro, under 200lb’s

he wasn't that much smaller, Horace for a 6'10 power forward combined great mobility with strength, I'm old enough to remember watching him play. I've no doubt he could switch and guard smaller players on the perimeter, as well as the top level talent assembled here, most of which he played against his whole career.

I also was old enough to watch him play, he just wasn’t that explosive, even for his size of 6-10 215lb’s. Nance was just more skilled and explosive in every way

then why didn't you draft him? Monster Mash is a three not a four anyway. I also intend on having Schrempf play most of the bench minutes at four and three, Horace is there to exploit match ups.

I do think Grant would be a good small-ball 5 in today’s NBA. He was an excellent defender so that definitely helps a lot. Now, in a competition like this I definitely wouldn’t start him at 5 because of all of the great centers. Just a lot of mismatches but if it’s situational he could be very good.

Even in situational he doesn’t move the needle in this kind of league. Nance does everything Grant does, but better

I needed more shooting on my bench, while Ellis is one of the best sharp shooters of all time, that’s still not enough considering English wasn’t a three point shooter. While yes, he’s a 3, he’s 6-8 240lb’s. Exactly what Joe Johnson was at with the jazz, and he was more affective as a stretch 4 then a 3. So he has the strength and height to guard 4’s. Also, if you watch his highlights in a single game you will see that a big part of his game was postup in the paint, so we are talking about a guy that is athletic enough to guard 3’s and has the measurable sand strength to guard bigger 4’s.

But let’s be honest, in today’s game 4’s aren’t banging and playing inside anymore, and considering this league where every C is a stud, and needs to be playing inside, your 4 is going to be mostly on the perimeter, which is why I don’t have a single traditional 4, outside of O’Neal who is my backup C. Mashburn is a situational player for me who can play the 3 or 4 and O’Neal can switch between the 4-5 for me with no problem.

Horace is nothing more then a role player, does everything well for a big, but can’t really play on the perimeter, not explosive enough to play the 5 as he is on the small side, but plays big so if he has to guard on the perimeter he’ll have a hard time and in affective on the perimeter of offense. He does many things well but nothing at a great or elite level. Nance on the other hand is a good offensive player and defensive player because of his elite level athleticism which by the way helps him to be a good rim protector and defender on the perimeter. He’s just so much better on every level, Horace is just a role player that doesn’t belong in this.

I will be posting the matchups when I get off of work.

Get any last second trades in while you still have the chance.

That kinda defeats the purpose of this competition, all about who you draft. Everyone has made mistakes. I missed out on both of my targeted options as my backup pg when Price and Johnson were selected back to back. I was going to draft one of them in the same round before they were picked, but then noticed Ellis and his elite level 3pt shooting, was too enticing to pass up, I probably should’ve drafted Price in the 8th round, Ellis probably would’ve still been there in the 9th round, and I still get Mashburn and O’Neal. I think Cousy would still be very good, but can only be effective in small bursts due to lack of shooting and physical attributes on defense, which means Dumars might have to play some pg for me, or I could’ve just passed on pg all together and had Dumars play backup pg. take him out early and come back in at pg when Oscar comes out.

Magic and Barkely are better than Malone and Wade. I dont know what they gave up individually though.

Ya. I’m just looking at return. Malone, Payton and Wade looks like the best return looking at wo got who. Would like to know who gave up what, I guess that could change perspective on the trade.

WC GAVE UP Magic Rice and Reggie, I think.

In coming... Malone Payton and Wade.

Magic>Malone

Payton Wade>>> Rice, Reggie
