What's new

Jazz Free Agency Summer of 2018

I love Trevor Booker... I know he doesn't give us what we really need, but I'd be so in on a reunion for a one year deal. Come home Book!

I ran a quick simulation... Say we get Favs on a 3/36 deal that declines year by year, and we get Exum on 3/27 on a deal that declines... will still be at $30M in space once we waive Ricky's cap hold and will have room to navigate with Favs, Crowder, Exum to get more space.

I think that Favs on a declining deal would be an asset and net us something. Think about if Clips had let Griffin walk... no Harris or lotto pick now. Its a good opportunity to get continuity and preserve assets.

Unless he sucks, demands a trade, or we're moving on to something better, the Jazz are in no way releasing Ricky's hold.

Do Celtics trade Rising stars Brown or Tatum for Kawaii?

Or do the spurs take the Hayward Horse with his broken ankle?

If you operate under the cap it is fine... just order how you re-sign guys. He has a $22M hold and I don't think he will make that much. I'm lukewarm on Ricky... I like him and a lot of what he brings but I think we could replace him.

Don't tell that to this guy...

Right now he knows that Paul George isn't signing with the Jazz.

It's really hard to complete a trade without Irving or hayward. Like it has to be an 8 for 1 type of trade if those guys aren't in. I'm so happy if it is Hayward, Rozier and picks.

Boston has the picks. Boston has the young players. Boston does not have the contracts required to make the deal work financially unless they trade Kyrie, Hayward or Horford. I think they need a 3rd team who really wants one of those 3 and will send more assets to San Antonio.

At very least I want there to be rumors Hayward was in the trade talks... make him realize Ainge dont give AF about him and that we likely would have been loyal to a fault.
If I'm the Spurs I probably would want some of the other assets and wouldn't consider Hayward a positive asset at this point. He's had 2 setbacks in his recovery already and there is no guarantee he will be anywhere close to the player he used to be before the injury.

I think they want future assets but don’t want full rebuild... if Leonard goes to Boston one of Irving or Hayward will be involved. I don’t think he’s a negative asset... yet. If he can’t play to start the season or struggles a lot then his value gets hammered.

I think he's going to LA.

We should be on the phone right now trying to get Kuzma some how some way. San Antonio doesn't want Deng, maybe they like Bradley (he wouldn't make a huge difference tipping the balance in the trade but maybe they like him), maybe they don't love Kuzma. Who the hell knows....

Spurs have Lamarcus and Gasol on the books next season Rudy Gay opted out. I think they would like Kuzma.
