Jazz Free Agency Summer of 2018

If we can't get Paul George I would rather he go to OKC than goes to LA to team up with LeBron.

This. LeBron in LA by himself doesn’t worry me very much. That supporting cast isn’t any better than what he had in Cleveland.

538 projects Klay for fewer WAR than Joe Ingles this upcoming season. Klay will also be 29 at the start of what would be his first year on the max contract, 30 y/o by the time the playoffs begin.

I like Klay, but giving a max deal to a 29/30 y/o guy who is good, but not great, is typically a bad bet.

Klay will 100% get the Max

I’m going to go very unconventional here but...

Dwight Howard on a 1+1. I’m probably the biggest Dwight hater of all time, dating back to his Orlando days. Fake superstar, mentally weak, and the opposite of Jazz DNA. He didn’t work with Kobe because Kobe had to have seen through his lack of discipline and lack of toughness. All that said, I think this may be an interesting option for a few reasons.

We’re thinking about adding guys who can play wing or 4 and bring some offense. Looking at a C isn’t really something we’re doing. I know we view Favors as a good Gobert insurance but we weren’t very good with Favors at C. Aside from Gobert, we don’t have a strong rebounder. I love both Udoh and Jerebko, but their offensive limitations makes it hard together, especially as there’s no offensive in the second unit.

Dwight is now at the point where he’s been forgotten and would be underrated. I wouldn’t want him as a main cog, but he’d allow us to run (effectively) the same kind of defense without Gobert. We can do the same if we run Udoh as the backup (which is what I favor in most scenarios), but Dwight can bring more offense and lots and lots more rebounding. It would make an even better pairing with Jerebko or even signing Bertans. Hell, trade Bradley for a S&T of Bertans and something else.

If we have someone like Jabari at the 4, it makes it imperative to have a strong rebounder on the floor for 48 minutes.

Flame away.

Depends on the price. If he is really cheap, sure.

Dwight to milwaukee. He doesnt fit Jazz culture.

Also, if Jazz are flying to atlanta to meet favors tomorrow afternoon, what will they do with the first 12 to 14 hours of free agency?
