The trickiest part of Exum's deal is that offering him $7, he may choose to just wait out the market, handicapping the Jazz, and end up taking his QO of like $5 million and betting on himself to get paid next summer unrestricted.

There is absolutely zero buzz on Exum - my best advice to him is take whatever The Jazz offer and say thank you.

OKC could trade Melo much like Charlotte traded Dwight. Something like Melo for Ryan Anderson saves OKC $7 million this year which is a ton with the luxury tax implications. Then they stretch Anderson after this year.

DeAndre Jordan is being signed for 3 things specifically - rim protection and rim finishing... and rebounding.

Favors ranks higher than DAJ in both rim protection (here's for 2015-2016 season, and for 2014-2015, too) AND finishing at the rim(stats for 2015-2016 and 2014-2015, too - here DAJ is better for those 2 years but Favors is still top 10 in the league)

I'm ignoring the injured 2016-2017 season. And Favors does a ton of things better on offense than DAJ...

The only thing DAJ does better than Favs is individual rebounding and the Jazz have been rebounding better with Favors on the floor than without him... and Favors is 3 years younger.

Carmelo has a no-trade clause too doesn’t he? That’s another potential hurdle if they try to move him.

Jazz just tell him to take a walk if it comes to that and they need the space. With money this tight, Exum needs to be careful.
