What's new

Jazz Free Agency Summer of 2018

I’d be all for beating that offer. I think he’d have great potential under Snyder. Plus, I’m fully on board with keeping Favors and Exum. I don’t see the Jazz getting better than them on the open market, so they might as well keep the roster strong and have value contracts that can become tradeable assets when a bigger trade opportunity comes around.

I would be okay with Favors (2 years), Exum (4 year deal $8 per), and Hezonja.

One thing to be noted... new owner of rockets has most of his worth tied up in the rockets and may not be as willing to spend no matter what... already let Ariza walk on a deal they could have figured out... mbah a Moute next?

Ariza is huge for them... Tucker is good an switchable but Ariza is long and guards the guys like DM. That team doesn’t scare me... I wouldn’t build to adapt for them... GS, Boston, wherever LBJ goes... those are the teams to think about. CP deal will end up being a millstone.

Why didn't we add him when he was waived mid-season?

I think Indiana had a bigger role for him.

I love Booker... not sure how he fits now but I love him... give him the 5 year Megamax!

Should’ve added Belinelli tbh. Jazz needed a little more 3 point shooting, and could offer more than Philly could because of the Thabo injury exception. Gotta admit that the David Stockton victory cigar thing at the end of the year was pretty damn fun though.

Utah has two TPEs to use. Book isn't an MLE player, but I have no problem signing him for 2 or 3m.

LeBron to Philly or LA, or DeMarcus to LA would be pretty wild, as would any major developments with the Jazz. Otherwise, nothing else has really tickled the pickle.[/QUOTE]

Tickled the pickle?

I have a sad feeling our offseason is:

Draft - Grayson Allen despite all the talk

Keep Thabo
Keep Favors (maybe even overpay)
Keep Jerekbo
Keep Udoh
Keep Exum (maybe even overpay)
Keep Neto

Sign Trevor Booker

The highlight of that offseason would be drafting Grayson Allen.

If the team is healthy and improves in a few areas just slightly, that's a good enough team to win 55 in the W, assuming the tear-arse we did in the 2nd half of last year wasn't a fluke.

Not bad. I predict Favors may want a 1+1. And we're not going to like the contract we give Exum. I'm hesitant to tie up money on anything but a 1 yr deal. There's always an outside chance for a free agent next summer. Or Jazz may want to have funds under the tax to make a trade. That's one of the primary reasons for bringing back Thabo and either Jerebko or Udoh.

Booker to replace Jerebko, perhaps?
Jazz are intent on assembling the meanest SOB's in the league. Seriously, would you want to mess with Utah when they can send Crowder and Booker after you? Those two are like the twin pit bulls you see guarding junkyards. But has he learned how to shoot? Has Crowder?
