Definitely not. And the Lakers actually have cap space and flexibility. His Cleveland team was better than this lakers team. Weird move.
You are correct. He has been a huge reason why we won a couple key games in the 1st round the last couple years. However, his limitations (offensive limitations and constant injury concerns) are a big reason why we got swept vs Golden State and lost 4-1 to Houston. Paying him $12 or more a year knowing that he's a consistent 12ppg and 8rpg guy with no range is not the type move contenders make.
I think they would want Aaron Gordon more. The West keeps getting more stacked while the East turns more JV.
My guess is Boogie signs next.
I don't get this at all. I thought he was great until the statistics were shown over and over again about how Gobert took an awful team and made them better when he came back from injury. In other words, we didn't play like we wanted to play with Favors as our 5. I would bet that our defense ran more normally when Udoh was at the 5. Regardless, every single stat said we were amazing with Gobert and awful without him.
I have a sad feeling our offseason is:
Draft - Grayson Allen despite all the talk
Keep Thabo
Keep Favors (maybe even overpay)
Keep Jerekbo
Keep Udoh
Keep Exum (maybe even overpay)
Keep Neto
Sign Trevor Booker
The highlight of that offseason would be drafting Grayson Allen.
So everyone would be happy bringing back some nostalgia guy who can’t contribute at all, giving the guy who can’t play in the same lineup with our best player against elite teams in the playoffs starter money, and overpaying all the non guaranteed guys for continuity sake?
Don’t even want to try new things that could potentially take us to the next tier as a team? Just run it back? Guess it’s nice that the fan base puts no pressure on the front office to take any sort of risk.
Can we get rid of conferences. This is stupid.
