If the Cavs are gonna trade Love they'll get multiple picks for him and/or a young player. Who are we willing to give up? Thabo? LOL ...

Why would rebuilding teams give up anything for Love? In the same vein, what do contenders have to offer? I'm not saying there wouldn't be offers and the Jazz couldn't be beat but I don't think he will net a humongous return.

I think we’d be one the teams at the forefront of a deal... I’m not a big fan but maybe he hasn’t declined and has some of the Minnesota Love in there still.
 
Pretty frustrating not hearing anything about the Jazz. Doesn't mean it is bad news but with Lebron going to LA. Jazz need to improve their team. I hope DL can pull the rabbit out of the hat here soon.

We still have all our picks and could offer cap flexibility with our non-guarantees. Did I say the Jazz were favorites and that they have the best assets?. No. Just sayin DL wouldn't be doing his job if he isn't making calls (Cavs among them). I'm sure he is working on multiple deals/scenarios with several teams. Thabo's just looks redundant on our team.

Probably not. He's old and that salary is hard to match. What contender has $24m in salaries to offload? Non-playoff teams would WANT picks to assume two years of his salary. Jazz would need to send $19.2M Cleveland's way to make this work. That's Burks and Crowder right now. But wait until after December and Utah could send Burks, Thabo and Jerebko (or Udoh) + their 2019 first. That gets Cleveland out from under an additional year of Love's salary.

Or maybe Jazz can pick up options and trade those players now. Not sure what other asset we could send them. Would they want Royce? Hate to give him up, but Allen is likely going to take away his playing time behind Mitchell and Crowder plays the 3/4.
 
The worse part of Lebron going to LA is now all the media will talk about is the Lakers and Lebron. I think I am going to puke.
 
Its a pipe dream to go after Kuzma, but doesn't mean we shouldnt.

LA has leverage over SA because Kawhi. Ingram, some expiring (Burks) and multiple 1sts gets the deal done for SA. We get Kuzma for taking Deng and sending our 2019 1st to SA.

Its messed up, but it might work. LBJ didn't go to LA to play with Kuzma and Lonzo. He went to contend with a super team. They must get Kawhi.

I was just thinking the same thing. Seems very un-Utah like to leave a player in the wind. Something's up maybe.

They wait until next year... or sign and trade Randle with those guys... or waive randles cap hold and use space... they still have some...

Hopefully that is enough ways for you...

Add in that they could also just put deng in the deal and give extra assets to SA... it would be their preference... they have no use for the extra cap space either... so they’d likely prefer Kuzma...
