Jazz Free Agency Summer of 2018

I’m hoping that Donovan’s offseason media tour next year will include him visiting every single max level free agent.

He seems like the guy that would love doing that, and it certainly can’t hurt our chances.

Help the Bucks get Kevin Love while we get Jabari Parker. Something like (if possible):

Bucks get Love
Cavs get Burks (expiring), Thon Maker, DJ Wilson, draft considerations from Bucks, draft considerations from us
Jazz get Parker
http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q92 I don't know if you can do a 3 way trade, but if we renounce Favors, this is possible it seems.

If have understood what has happened over the last few days correctly, the Bucks are hard capped and only have $16 million to pay Jabari. That means that they can`t get Kevin Love without giving back at least $9 million.

IF Favors comes back, it’s going to be on a 3 or 4 year deal unless he wanted a one year deal and to test the market again next year.

Just be prepared for that.

I’ve been upfront in hoping Favors comes back. If he does, I hope it’s either a solid 1 year deal that leaves options open for both sides next offseason, or a Joe Ingles type 3/4 year deal that offers more than anyone else for right now and descends in value in future years.

Surely Dennis Lindsey is smart enough not to sign Favors for more than a year so that we can preserve our 2019 cap space and try to find a better fit at the 4 in free agency next offseason, right?

Unless we’re getting rid of Favors, Dante and Ricky, I think that 2019 cap space is a myth. It won’t be as valuable as most people think. I firmly believe that the Jazz have $24 million in expiring contracts to try to execute a major trade for whatever the “missing piece” is for this team.

I personally think they’ll make a huge push for Otto Porter. . . but I guess we’ll find out.

$16 + $2.7(Maker) + $2.5(Wilson) = $21+ I'm getting close. Maybe add Jennings too.

I think we could keep Exum, Rubio, and still sign a max player next offseason. If we sign Favors to a multiyear deal then it all goes our the window.

But if it's a good enough contract it should mean he's tradeable, right?

Jason Lloyd, writer for The Athletic in Cleveland, said the Cavs are open to trading Kevin Love. Earlier reports said that they didn't want to trade him even if LeBron left.

They're insane to not trade Love. Can't possibly build a legitimate contender around hi. Blow that thing up.

Man, they are really going to suck next season.

I think the Jazz don't want to lose him for nothing, that they'd like to trade him if not keep him longer term. He's one of our few tradable assets.
We’ve been saying that about him for the last three years but haven’t traded him. We’ve also been saying that about Burks for a long time, too.

How many bad contracts has DL done? The Burks extension? Any others?

I'm confident he'll let Favors walk if the agent wants too much money.
