Jazz Free Agency Summer of 2018

The solution is simple - once you are over the luxury, you cant spend money. There is no reason why GS should have $5.4 to spend this year. No reason whatsoever. That is the loophole.

A decent player will pass up on $10 million to get $5 and a ring. And I wouldn't be shocked if some owners are paying players on the side.

This is a different story if all they could offer him is league minimum.

I’ve never believed that any team is unbeatable. Boogie is a cancer but you can have head cases and cancers on teams that can play strong peripheral roles if everything else is stable (Ron Artest in LA, Rodman in Chicago), but it will be interesting to see how it goes. I can’t think of anyone anywhere remotely near Boogie’s size coming off an Achilles rupture. He can still shoot and board, though.

This is the type of team poised to be taken down by someone like us.

No teams are unbeatable.

This needs to be veto by the commissioner. Didn't the league block Chris Paul for going to the Lakers? Might not watch the NBA anymore after this. I will always follow the Jazz but not the NBA.

Isn't this as much a sign that nobody really wanted Cousins? Jazz could have easily made room for him. I doubt they wanted him. NO could have kept him. They undoubtedly knew they played better without him. Plenty of teams could have gone after and given him a better offer.

Let's not go hyperbolic on this. It could just as easily backfire on the Warriors as help them.

That's the true Hard Cap the Players Union would not agree to.

They vetoed that deal cos at the time NO was under the League control was it not? Not sure they can meddle with the 'Free Agents', ... it is a free market afterall.
