Texas school shooting

You've already been given that answer. You just don't agree. And I am telling you that assigning one emotion to everyone in that scenario is dumb. People are way to varied in their mental, emotion and physical makeup for one emotion to apply to all.

Give me an answer why would one need a gun in the house if they do not fear for their safety? Again I am getting to my point - you guys have a love affair/disease/obsession with guns.
Admitting you guys have a problem is a first step in fixing the problem.

Again, answered. You just don't like the answer. Not our problem.

Also, admitting there is a problem? For someone so involved in the constant gun threads im gonna chalk this up to a quick unthinking response.

That's just plain stupid. Is USA leading country in the world by insurmountable margin in dog related mass killings, school attacks, dog related crimes and dog related children accidents and deaths?

LOL

Whatever. I guess outsiders opinion is not important. Not going to bother anymore trying to educate you that world without guns is a better place. Happy shooting!

I think we can all agree that the damage, money, injury and death caused by dogs is an epidemic. They should be put down on sight.

Don’t even get me started on the emotional toll and fear associated with dogs.

Then actually get educated on America culture, gun culture and guns themselves. So that you can actually argue facts and not blind blanket assumptions like this “it can only be fear” argument . If you want so bad to discuss it you should be legit informed.

“Guns are bad m’kay” is intellectual laziness.

I currently have 6 guns. 3 handguns 2 shotguns and 1 rifle. 4 I have been given or inherited. 2 I purchased (barretta 92 9 mm and HK45). 1 of them I was given was from my sister-in-law, had belonged to my dead BiL. Was his military spec M9A1 (he was a capt. In the army before he died). 1 gun is a 30-40 krag used by a family member as a sniper in WWII.

I enjoy shooting them. There is some history there as well. I enjoy cleaning them and the engineering that went into them. I have hunted in the past and still do on occasion (mostly birds).

They are all kept locked up, Separated from the ammo, which is also locked up. 1 of them is in a small 2-compartment gun safe in my closet within easy reach if needed.

I enjoy them as keepsakes, as a hobby, for their history, and I also like the idea that I have 1 available should it really be needed. I find it prudent.

So tell me, am I driven by hand-wringing debilitating irrational fear first and foremost, and all the other stuff is just how I cover it up or justify it? Do I need to go to guns anonymous since I have a "problem" that I need to eradicate with a 12-step program? Am I a wild-eyed devotee of "gun-culture" just watching the yard every night hoping some black man steps on my lawn so I'm justified in killing someone?

Seriously some of the stuff people say about this subject is just ludicrous *********.

A broken .22lr my dad owned as a kid.

A broken Mossberg 500 shotgun

A broken WWII Mauser

I have a .22 and a 9 millimeter

The most irrational fear of guns in the history of the world is the gripping panic tyrants feel when sinking, sliding, slipping outta power. That alone makes guns worth having.

Because tyrants habitually get overthrown by private citizens with guns. And get replaced by wonderful, benevolent, freedom-loving dudes.
