Shroeder and Muscala traded to OKC for Carmelo

Man, this makes OKC really way more dangerous. Shroeder and Westbrook will become the fastest guard duo...
And BTW Hawks will wave Carmelo lol... nobody wants his trash ***..

Wow, we all knew their teams wanted to move Crymello and Schroeder. I wondered how it would be possible. Amazing OKC got off of Anthony without paying, and maybe picking up a player in the deal.

Edit: I guess OKC did pay a little. A 2022 Lottery protected first that converts to two second rounders if not conveyed in 2022.

Also, Shams Charania is reporting
Sources: As part of multi-team Carmelo Anthony/Dennis Schröder deal, Atlanta’s Mike Muscala will go to Philadelphia, 76ers’ Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot will be traded to Oklahoma City and 76ers’ Justin Anderson to Atlanta.

OKC gets something out of it instead of a straight dump. Houston or the Lakers (cant remember who wanted him) will pick him up though. CA will make some team less effective next season.

Remember all the people here who were salivating over Schroeder? The dude got dumped for a lottery protected 1st rounder 4 years from now.

Still better than Burke which is who I and others wanted him over. But I'm okay now we didn't get him. I like our PG options better.

That pick also happens to be the year it's a double draft. So it's a more valuable pick. It's the year high school kids can be drafted.

Yeah, but Schroeder was just good enough for the team that drafted him to overpay him. That's worse than being so bad the team moves on quickly from you.

Burke was a better pick than Schroeder.

The fact that Schroeder got traded has no indication on how good he is. Atlanta is going full tank/rebuild mode. Keeping Schroeder makes them more competitive and they did not want that.

No, they traded him because he sucks, is overpaid, and has an ongoing assault case.

I stand by my claim. Burke was the better pick.

Schroeder is probably marginally better than Burke. He's pretty bad. A PG who can't shoot or defend. But like Cy said, Burke was a wasted pick. Schroeder would've been a large contract to try to offload, since he's not good enough to start on a deep playoffs team. Also, his off-court behavior is worse than Burke's.

Schroeder has better TS%, FG% and FT% than Burke and better defensive stats as well. So if Schroeder can't shoot or defend what does it say about Burke lol.

Not last season. Burke has much better FG%, and I assume TS% since Shroeder can't hit 3s. And I did say Schroeder was better. But not by enough to matter. While being vastly more expensive.

What is with you all comparing one season ( Burke only played 36 games, sample is too small). I look at career stats.

Schroeder had one good season. He's on a bad team with the green light. And yet, his stats kind of suck. At least Burke can be a shooting threat.

Without Schroeder's one good season, his stats aren't that different from Burke.

Burke was in the same situation last year. We could say that Burke had a great season last year and without it his shooting stats kind of sucks as well.

I agree. Both of those players suck!

How tf does Schroeder and Russ work ? Unless Schroeder is happy to play backup PG for 12 mpg .. weird pickup. Getting rid of Meli helps them a lot but I don’t see what good this dude does for them

Maybe they plan on moving Westbrook?
