Dont believe he declared for this year's draft. So main thing for him will be to play well enough to get on NBA scout's radar for next year.
He is also 220 pounds so he sounds as thin as Bol.

Or they just think there is very little difference between Irving and Knight. You generally value bigs much higher. They'll still probably get one of the top-2 PG's. Only risk would be Irving goes #2 and then the JAzz take Knight, That would leave them with Kanter/Williams. That's not a bad scenario. Take Irving and then the draft could go (as expected) Williams #2 and Kanter #3, leaving Knight as the BPA at #4, but the Cavs would have already selected Irving.
So is Kanter/Williams or Kanter/Knight better than Irving/Vesely (or Valanciunas)? If I were the Cavs GM and Irving didn't completely blow me away in workouts, I might consider taking Kanter #1 (and I'm not a huge fan of Enes).
I think the consensus now is that Irving, Williams, Kanter and Knight are the 4 best players in the draft and after that there is a big drop off. What works in our favor is that the Cavs has Baron Davis under contract for 2 more years and the T-Wolves will have Rubio coming over this upcoming season. Baron Davis, when engaged, is still the team's best player and drafting Irving will leave them in the position where their top 2 players are both PGs. The T-Wolves can draft Irving and trade him, but the value they are going to get will be lower since their hands are tied with the whole world knowing they are drafting to trade. Also, who knows, maybe the team that eventually trades up is Washington, and they will never draft another PG and aim for Derrick Williams.
Anyway, as long as Irving doesn't go number 1, he will most likely end up with us at #3 (which I would love to happen). For those of you who are worried about his injury, he was checked out at the combine and everything checked out fine. NBAdraft.net said he had a broken foot but I think it was just a turf toe. I might be wrong though.
I already touched on the bold part and said that loss in value will be mitigated by the fact that multiple teams will come swooping in to try to trade for Irving, raising the price tag. Minnesota could then take the best offer. A guy who was consensus #1 amongst most teams suddenly drops to #2 to a team that would trade him? Multiple teams are going to call.
But they will be weighing the offers against the prospect of drafting a Derrick Williams, which may not be much worse than the offers that come through. Also teams are not going to put in too much for the #2 pick in this draft.
If this rumor has any legs to it, Minnesota is probably already fielding calls for the #2. Unless they're really sold on Williams, they'd have a deal in place to take Irving and then trade his draft rights. Gut feeling tells me Minnesota would go for Williams. If they trade their pick, Utah could very take DWill and then the BPA is Knight or one of the Euro bigs.At that point, it wouldn't be the #2 draft pick, it would be Kyrie Irving, BPA in the draft in the teams' mind.
The first point is valid, however. The problem, though, is that Minnesota won't have much time to make up their mind. Little chance of coming up with a deal while they're on the clock after the shocker of Cleveland taking Kanter should it happen. It would come down to what their draft board is. Should Kyrie Irving be rated higher than Williams, I think it would be difficult for them to take the lesser player in their mind just because of position.

If Kanter and DWill go 1/2, it's deja vu for KOC. He has his choice between the two PG's: Irving and Knight. And Cleveland takes whoever the Jazz pass on, adding a quality PG prospect to Kanter. I think the Cavs SHOULD take Kanter #1. Kanter + DWill or Knight is the best draft scenario for them.
Anthony Davis, Jared Sullinger, Perry Jones, Tyler Zeller and Mason Plumlee all say "hi." Not to mention there are always a half-dozen first-rounders who will come out of nowhere during the 2010-11 college basketball season - Cavs would be foolish to base their 2011 picks on what the 2012 draft class projects to be.Consider this though, there aren't any bigs at all in next year's draft

Keep in mind there are those who aren't sold that Kanter himself is a true center rather than an oversized PF, and that there are other ways for Cleveland find a center besides the draft.None of these are centers. The Cavs could not play any of these at center except Zeller, who isn't anything worth looking forward to.
