Kevin Pelton projects the Jazz as the #2 seed in the West

If the injury bug can be avoided this is doable. Seems like the bug tends to bite quite a bit. I'd love to see a full season with minimal games lost due to injury.

LeBron will miss 30 games this season and the Lakers will miss the playoffs. Going to the Finals 8 years in a row has taken its toll on him, he needs a year off.

I think LBJ knows playoff success is impossible this year. I think he goes for another MVP award this year while he still has it in him.

I don't wish a career ending injury to Lebron but...

I do wish a max contract attached to a guy with a career ending injury on the Lakers...

Conflicted :/

This is pretty stellar but I'm not surprised. I agree with Cy, the West will be dictated by health. I think if we stay relatively healthy, we're the #2 team. Houston essentially swapping Ariza for Melo is not an upgrade. Pretty freaking crazy, Top 2 in the West = bona fide top 3 team in the league.

The ******-ness of the East will reach an all-time high this year.

Can you guys jinx us anymore? When was the last time the jazz didn’t go through major injuries. It feels as inevitable as it was that Stockton and Malone would play all 82 games in the regular season

Every year people are too high on Denver. I don't see them making the playoffs next season. Every team in the west has improve, except maybe Houston and the Clippers. Memphis will be much better this year with Conley back. The Jazz finishing somewhere in the top 3 wouldn't surprise me at all.

I like the Love the Jazz are getting, but this **** is instantly discredited with him having the Lakers out of the playoffs. The west is not that much better than the east. That **** is so over exaggerated. This Lakers roster is way better than that Cavs roster. By far.

What is it about the history of Lebron would even give you the idea he cant lead that group of guys deep in the playoffs?

he's gonna be 34 and gonna have to play hard EVERY night in the west and have to play some D 7th or 8th seed

Well, for one, his "history" is all in the NBA LEast. And his current reality is that he has moved into the varsity league. I assume "Deep into the playoffs" is to the WCF, which would be shocking if it materializes. Getting past Indy, Toronto, Detroit, Atlanta, Boston in last 3 years, versus GSW, HOU, Jazz, OKC, etc. Night. And. Day

Seriously, there is GSW, Houston, Jazz and OKC in top 4, then 5-12 can end up anyway and we have Suns, Kings and Grizzlies at the bottom.

Dallas will be better but the odds of them competing for the 5th seed are nil.
