Jazz to Play in Mexico City December 15th

Bummer, I'm currently in Ecuador for work and moving to Mexico City around March/April. Haven't seen the Jazz in person in about 10 years. Couldn't watch them when I was living in Boston either. Can't wait to see them again.

I agree about shortening the schedule, but this cuts down on travel distance for the Jazz.

Mexico City is closer to SLC than Orlando. It's also pretty easy to attach this game to a road trip off of a Texas game. This is hardly a travel burden game.

Good point. I was thinking more of having the Jazz play in Australia or Europe. (Or China, but I wouldn't be as interested in them going there).

I don't get it, NBA doesn't want an unified playoff seed because of the wear of travel between east and west but is ok with some teams traveling to Ciudad de México, London, Rio de Janeiro, Beijing, etc.

So, travel because of fairness in competition is bad but travel because advertising and sales is good?

Yup... I was not excited about this announcement... this type of stuff can derail a season a bit and makes the rest of the schedule just a little more compacted. If we get more national TV games it will alleviate some of the compaction... in years past we didn't play on Thursdays because of the TNT monopoly and no Sunday home games.

That's not why they can't change playoff seeding.
