2011 draft.....

One last time because I can't help myself.

Bledsoe 'saga' ended up being nothing more than, while in HIGH SCHOOL (well before he was even RECRUITED by UK), his mom took around $1,000 to move into an apartment (her and Eric were living in her car). That has nothing to do with Cal, but I don't blame Eric's mom one bit under those circumstances. The double-standard is of epic proportions.

The golden boy, coach krzweiskyihsky played Corey Magette, Magette was found/proven to had taken money, yet K is an angel. I could cite many more, but .. I shouldn't.
 
I know, I agree. I tend to only bring it up under two cicumstances;

1) Someone asks my opinion of a UK player
2) Someone bashes the players, coach, team, with bad info.

I find it hard to just sit back and listen to things thrown around as facts .. when they're simply and entirely wrong. I need to work on just letting it go ... just hard-headed.

Derrick Williams: Williams is the classic tweener who keeps telling people he is a 3, when all he has ever played is the 4. If we are going to judge Williams as a 3, then his ballhandling is suspect, most of his jumpers came on spot-ups while being guarded by college big men, and he has never guarded on the perimeter.

One high-level NBA team executive told me after reading my Big Board that Williams "might not even really be a starter in the league, because he has no position and no real low-post game." All reports are that he is a fantastic person with a solid work ethic, but unless his team is committed to playing fast and playing with a pass-first point guard (as Cleveland and Minnesota likely would), Williams might get lost in half-court sets where his lack of defined skill becomes apparent.

Enes Kanter: Frankly, it is not even close. Kanter has not played competitively in a year, but when he has played, he looks like arguably the best prospect in this draft. Kanter is 6-foot-10 in bare feet, can play either inside position and is an animal on the boards. Whether it is Minnesota or Cleveland or even Utah, it seems foolish to pass on his combination of size, skill and youth.

Well he can certainly jump high. If he can focus his athleticism into staying in front of his man on d, and create some offense on the other side, even if that means posting up other 3's and keeping them honest with the occasional 3 ball, i still think he can be very successful.

Perhaps this should go in the dream draft thread. Here's mine.

#3: Draft BPA. If Kanter and Knight are there, go Kanter. Field offers. If the Wiz are interested like the rumors state, and Knight falls to them, trade them Kanter for Knight and an unprotected 1st next year. Washington's other two picks this year are nice. But hold out for the unprotected 1st.

#12: Biyombo. Get him here or move up to get him but get him one way or the other.

Then, buy a couple picks and draft BPA wings.

If we can come out of this with Knight (via Washington), Washington's unprotected 1st next year, Biyombo, and one or two other intriguing prospects, I'd ****.

This is my dream. A dream yes it is. But we all have them and sometimes they come true.

And yet Coach Cal opened all of these questionable players with open arms. The facts are there and staring you right in the face. You fail to acknowledge them because he is now coaching your team. The guy is slimy plain and simple. This is only the stuff we know that his program has been under investigation for. You know there are many more instances that likely haven't seen the light of day.
 
Since there seems to be a general disagreement on Calipari and his character, let's just get an objective mediator to step in here. Say John Chaney?

He welcomed Bledsoe BEFORE there was an investigation ... and he was cleared anyway. Hate all you want, buy UK hasn't had the SLIGHTEST slap on the wrist in more than 20 years. That's longer than Indiana, UConn, North Carolina, Kansas, UCLA .. on and on and on. Oh, and an argument that everyone else just got caught and UK hasn't is weak, weak, weak. THIS really is my last post on the subject. As I said from the beginning, this is not the forum, and it's a multi-page debate that no one concedes anything.

This has everything to do with Coach Cal and not what UK's past is. Sorry but the guy is a scumbag. Last post.
 
Cleveland is the only team in the draft that will win at least ten more games next season because of their picks. With that said, the Jazz can't lose by picking Jimmer. There may be a few more athletic players ahead of him, but this is a weak draft, and Jimmer plays with heart. Look at those dirty rotten Lakers. Had they played with heart, they would be champs again. Five years from now we will be lucky to remember a handful of this years rookies. Jimmer will be one of them.
 
I find it strange (or at least surprising) that the newly updated mock on DX (June 13th) has Burks sliding to #15.

Has Utah taking Knight and Singleton, btw.
 
Not sure if it's already been posted, so sorry if it has, but Ryan Feldman from The Hoops Report was tweeting quite a bit about the draft last night and said that he's been getting new information on a daily basis and as of right now the Jazz are leaning towards Kanter at #3. He went on to say that at #12 if The Jimmer is there, they will not pass on him. So according to his updated mock he has us getting Kanter & Jimmer (is there any way we can lock this in?) Not sure how much credible info he's getting, but if it is just a theory on his part it is a pretty logical one. He mentioned that the draft is all about getting value. According to him Knight, Walker & Jimmer are all relatively close as far as PG's, and one of them, possibly even two (most likely Jimmer & Walker) could still be there at 12. BTW his mock now has Kemba at 13. So if the Jazz are confident that at least one of the three are there at 12, why waste the #3 on one of them? Anyways I hope this happens as I wish the Jazz will go big with their first pick and then they can go small with their 2nd.
