I don't remember **** about Republicans bringing up Hillary's defense of Bills sexual misconduct. I remember BNGHAZIIIIIIIIII and email servers and Vince Foster. Republicans were not focused on the sexual abuse angle, at all.

Those were all issues, but the Hillary/Bill thing was used a lot too, by Trump et al. Not sure why you don't remember, it was all over. Reported quire widely, especially close to the election. And largely attenuated/spun by much of the liberal media from the viewpoint that Trump abuses women). https://www.cnn.com/2016/04/06/opin...ion-campaign-scandals-bill-clinton/index.html

I appreciate CNN's comment about the 2016 election:

"In the 2016 election, we are seeing once again that the public is more interested in the need to fix the economy and Washington than they are with the personal lives of most of the candidates in this campaign, at least those who don't claim any kind of special personal virtue" I don't see CNN spinning sex scandals that way now. Wonder why? (I am sure Foxnews has done a 180 from 2016 as well).

I remember hearing about it a lot leading up to the election.

"Already this election season, Trump has called Bill Clinton the "greatest woman abuser of all time" and pointed the finger at Hillary Clinton for what he has described as enabling her husband's sexual misdeeds and attacking the women who came forward against him."

Kavenaugh's choir boy act finally makes sense to me. It was a little strange that he wouldn't have just admitted to being heavy drinker in his youth, after all the religious right loves nothing more than a good redemption story, see George W Bush for example.

Now I see that he couldn't admit to it because that would involve admitting there would be many periods of time he would be unable to account for due to getting too drunk. There's a common thread throughout each of these allegations--copious amounts of alcohol use.

What he didn't count on (which he should have seen coming, really) is that there are many, many witnesses who can attest to his heavy drinking during his college and high school years. His own yearbook tells a different tale than he has tried to spin.

Setting aside the importance of believing women, which I understand is a really difficult thing for many on the right, he has damned himself with his own self righteous words.

They brought up Bill Clinton's behavior a lot. Hillary's accommodations, not so much.

So why do y'all believe Juanita Broaddrick?

Are you really gunna be partisan about rape? Really?
Umm, you are aware that this argument goes both ways, right? Anyone who is stunned that people are partisan is not paying attention. You might also want to check the evidence Juanita Broaddrick presented in comparison to this case.

Sorry that I did not find an exact parallel for you. I also apologize that one was told by a president and the other by a congressman.

You really don't have to apologize for your inability to understand the difference between a rape joke and a sex joke, although it does make one wonder if you know the difference between sex and rape in other instances...

When he released his long form birth certificate it ended the controversy, so good job proving JustTheTip's point.

Except, it didn't. I heard birther's complain it was a fake. People posted about supposed evidence it was not "original". Trump had investigators in Hawaii until late 2015/early 2016.

Can you avoid saying untrue things?

I don't think it was Obama's responsibility to release his birth certificate at all. It acknowledged that the birther nuts deserved a reply. It did not end the controversy, people just altered the birther fantasy by saying the birth certificates were fake. Trump said he had investigators in Hawaii, and that "you won't believe" what they are finding out. He never elaborated. Because he could not elaborate. I always thought Obama should have just laughed and allowed the birthers to soak in their own conspiratorial stew. They still exist, they still believe Obama is not a native born American. It was so obviously racially motivated, Obama did not owe them the time of day.

Seems like there's enough information circulating at this point to doubt Kavanaugh.

Can't wait to see how the Rapepublican Senators spin this.
This is what I call evidence. If her claim that she can identify other people who will corroborate is true then this is game over, as it should be.

Holy ****.

I wonder if Ms. Swetnick told her friends that Kavanaugh was present when she was raped, that would be a smoking gun for sure. And does stating that Kavanaugh and Judge were present mean they were at the house or party at the time or during the evening, or actually in the room when it happened? I did read that Swetnick refused to state that Judge or Kavanaugh participated in the rape. But if they were in the room and did nothing, then they are the scum of the Earth.

If it turns out he was in the room when it happened (and if Swetnick told her friends that at the time), then it is definitely game over. Is there any confirmation as to whether she reported it to authorities? The hard part with all of these types of allegations is most people are usually drinking, so it is hard to prove one way or another. It would be great if Swetnicks friends could verify that she stated they were both in the room when it happened. I hope she gets the opportunity to speak before Congress as well.

That alternate reality creating saga laid the groundwork for the bizarro world Trump cultists still find themselves in. It's beyond shameful that America let him ride the wave of Birtherism all the way to the white house.

As long as it is a constitutional requirement every president should have to. It's just sad that the first black potus is the only guy "we" asked for it.
