Do you speak for all women? Just curious.

I’ll be honest, all of the women in my life (mother, wife, grandmother, sister, mother-in-law, etc etc) think this whole thing is a farce. And at least one (that I know of) was sexually assaulted. I can assure you that they don’t find this a victory.

Yes there are a lot of women that agree and disagree with the women in your life.

At the same time it’s sad that people automatically go to this is all political. And it’s sad that they didn’t call for an FBI investigation earlier. Our government is filled with damned self serving idiots.

Imagine how much time we could have saved had this gotten out right away. And save me the Feinstein was trying to keep it confidential. The lady, or her staff, leaked it...and then tried to blame it on Ford or her friends. Feinstein is without doubt an awful woman.
You know this how? Sounds like an unsubstantiated allegation to me, and I know how you feel about those.

A lot of women didn't think that women needed the right to vote either, but that doesn't mean that it wasn't a victory for all women. This event of course is not like that, but just because some women do not like change doesn't mean that they won't benefit by it. Not that I expect much change from this.

I’m sure that there are many idiot democrats that don’t give a damn whether this woman was telling the truth or not as long as it’s self serving to them. And if she is telling the truth I’m sure the republicans will overlook it to make sure there guy gets put into the highest court in the USA. Because that is the most self serving outcome for them. I’m sick of these idiots all around professing they they ran for office and serve us because they LOVEEEE their country. All they do is love themselves. I say **** them!

This is what this whole process has shown me. I’ve seen many things over the years, but this has ruined my faith completely in the men and women that profess to serve us, and the interests of this country.

True. But two parties had the letter. Feinstein, and Ford. So either Feinstein leaked it, or Ford, who wanted it confidential, leaked it.

Feinstein said she didn’t leak. Initially said she never asked her staff if they leaked it, then talked to a staffer and said her staff didn’t leak the letter.

“It’s my understanding that her story was leaked before the letter became public. She testified that she had spoken to her friends about it and it’s most likely that that’s how the story leaked and that she had been asked by press. But it did not leak from us, I assure you of that.”

Feinstein avoids it pretty well by talking about the story, but the Wa Post (I think) had a copy of the letter. It had to have come from somewhere.

It would be ironic to the max if that calendar came back to bite Kavanaugh. Guess the FBI will be checking out "Timmy's" house, if it still exists, esp. since Dr. Ford said she could remember the floorplan.

Again, as far as where the house is, it's probably one of the boys alleged to be at the party. It's unlikely that they broke into someone else's house to have a party. The boys allegedly knew their way around the house. How hard is it to put 1 + 1 together if this is real...

Anyone else noticed that on the Republican side of the Committee it's all white male and on the Democrats side it's male, female and people of colour?

I wonder why that is.

Why indeed?

By the way Matt Schlapp's spouse is a senior Trump advisor...

I don’t think you really wonder why that is. We all know why that is.

So the FBI will investigate, the witnesses will say the same thing they did before because they wrote a sworn testimony in their letter to the Senate, and it will satisfy Flake (maybe) and Alaskan lady. It won’t change anything from the Democrats.

Woohoo!

You are without a doubt an awful person

Bu...buu...buuut what about Mia LOVE???!

Wow. And blatant lies like this don’t give repubs cause for concern?

Funny how the passage of just a little time can settle impressions.

I believe Kavanaugh was acting. Dr. Ford was not.

Kavanaugh acted as another Republican on the committee. I think he energized the Republicans to just yell at the Democrats, culminating in Graham's tirade. It's as if Kavanaugh and the Republicans thought they could just angrily argue and tirade their way into confirmation.

I've gone back and looked at selected sections of his testimony. I focused on Sen. Whitehouse, because he represents my state. At the time, I thought Whitehouse could have done a better job, but I was wrong.

In fact, some of Kavanaugh's most defensive stances occurred under questioning from Whitehouse. "If you want to look at my yearbook, have at it". Then he threw himself back in his chair, with a look of disgust, and to me that's an act that a guilty man might engineer on the spot to look innocent. "What do you like to drink, Senator? Senator, what do you like to drink"? That latter exchange was pretty arrogant and frankly, uttered in contempt. And he's in attack mode there, attack when your adversary is getting too close for comfort. I realize an innocent man has all the right in the world to be pissed, but he then gave fairly ludicrous answers to what the entries in the yearbook signified. All, seemingly, in service to preserving a level of innocence that did not suggest excessive drinking and sex. You could say he was hiding who he was at that time in his life. So, maybe there is worse behavior he was hiding.

I agreed with Whitehouse that he was not credible. Loud, aggressive, belligerant, contemptuous at times, whining, but not credible.

Me thinks he doth protest too much might apply to Kavanaugh's testimony.

Here's that exchange with Whitehouse. Kavanaugh acting defensive, treating a duly elected representative of American citizens with contempt at times. Not a good look for one who would be a Supreme Court Justice. He knew what those yearbook notations signified, but he'd rather not say. He was acting. Dr. Ford was not.

Indeed. Reasonable would have been ordering one a week ago when these allegations first surfaced and an investigation was requested by Dr Ford. The only reason the investigation is happening now is because Kavanaugh doesn't have the votes without one, thanks to Flake and Murkowski.
Reasonable would have been turning this information over to the Senate when it was discovered, not at the 11th hour. Feinstein was clearly more interested in using it as a delay tactic than in finding out the truth.
