It's so ludicrous. Not only did the Democrats not pull any dirty tricks with Gorsuch, a few of them even voted for him. People who fear the Democrats holding this seat open for years are revealing their political ignorance of people like Joe Manchin and Heidi Haitcamp. The protests over Trump's nominee (which became Kavanaugh) were in high gear even before a nominee was named. Many Democrats have not been shy about saying that their goal is to oppose Trump at every turn, and they have. One even encouraged supporters to harass members of the Trump admin if they came across them in public, and they have. There is ample reason to believe that if congress flips we will be facing a two year stalemate. It's seems crazy to me that people are disputing that. How many Dem votes have their been for legislation supported by Trump since he took office. Not very many at all, I'm certain.

Ford made her allegation. She asked to remain anonymous. Feinstein sat on it until the last moment. The only explanation for that is political.

There has been plenty of activist support for obstruction yes, but you are ignoring the many Trump appointees who earned Dem votes. Look man, I don't know what to tell you, but you simply don't understand the political cost to a red state dem if they were to support holding a SC seat open for over two years. They would never do it.

Beat me to it. It's been repeated ad nauseum but let's go over it one more time. Dr Ford thought that her anonymous allegation would suffice, when that was clearly not going to work and support for Kavanaugh was galvanizing she thought coming forward would be pointless precisely because of people like you. It was only after she realized her story would be coming out in the press anyway that she came forward.
 
BTW

Even if Democrats win both houses of congress (unlikely) Trump will still be POTUS for at least 2 more years. It is 5 o clock not 11

She thought that an anonymous allegation that was not shared with the committee would suffice? How about she lets the committee know that she has an allegation so that it can be investigated before they are headed to a vote? It seems pretty obvious why she handled it the way she did.

It was an anonymous allegation shared with Feinstein who is on the committee. Again, remember she wrote her Representative way back in July about Kavanaugh with the hopes it would reach the White House. If you want to accuse Dr Ford of partisanship, go ahead but there's absolutely no evidence of it. I mean, it's not like she went on an angry rant against Republicans in her opening statement or anything...

Where did I say anything about Ford's motivation? I have been talking about Feinstein.

He treated the public like we were idiots, like we wouldn’t notice as he pretended he was ralphing during Beach Week from too many jalapeños, as he feigned ignorance about sex slang, as he misread his own meticulously-kept 1982 summer calendar, as he replied to questions about his drinking habits by talking about church, as he suggested there are no alcoholics at Yale, as he denied knowing who “Bart O’Kavanaugh” could possibly be based on, as he declared things refuted that weren’t actually refuted, as he claimed witnesses said things they didn’t say, as he failed to explain why nearly a dozen Yale classmates said he drank heavily, as he invented an imaginary drinking game to avoid admitting he had the mind of a sports jock in high school, as he said Ford had only accused him last week, as he responded to his roommate’s eyewitness statement with an incoherent story about furniture, as he pretended Bethesda wasn’t 5 miles wide, as he insisted Renate should be flattered by the ditty about how easy she was, as he declared that distinguished federal judges don’t commit sexual misconduct even though he had clerked for exactly such a judge.

And what does it say about us, and our political system, that he might well get away with it?
