I dont think so. Utah knew he was going to get a sizable offer in free agency and he didnt fit the play style Utah wanted on either end.

Bench guys don't throw down 31 ptts/22 rebs on national tv against Embiid AFTER throwing down 22 pts and 16 rebs against Drummond game before that.
This is becoming a high scoring league where there are very few Goberts playing .Scoring wins games and there are only a couple teams that can play defense and score. Against Golden State and Houston if you can't score you can't beat them as the Jazz and Jazz fanz found out.

I'm really hoping Exum blossoms this year ,another maligned Jazz player like Kanter.That Exum becomes the next Roberson while also becoming the 3rd star for Utah. Jazz will be a threat to Golden State this year if Exum becomes the X factor .

I'd rather talk about hoping Alec becomes good enough that the FO would stupidly trade him in a lateral move at best, cause, ya know, losing him for nothing is worse than downgrading the team. Or how Grayson should play over Alec cause Alec isnt in the long term plans.

Except didn't he infamously tell Richard Jefferson he didn't think playing defense was important? There's a reason why guys like Melo and Kanter aren't winners. But he does have the early front runnner for quote of the year, “When i think about playoffs my nipples get hard,”
