4 Games In - Ingles and you know who compared...

I mean, video games is a billion dollar industry. Hayward has made really smart business moves since going to Boston. Yeah his career may have tanked because of the injury, but the guy is getting paid way better than he could have in Utah.

Not sure you understand that this is a joke. He’s done quite well, but I’m not sure he’s getting way more in Boston. He passed up about 50M by leaving... we will see what his next contract looks like but that’s a lot of money to make back through endorsements.

Everything has lined up perfectly for Hayward when it comes to money..... Which is why I'm hoping for mental anguish and an inability to enjoy any of it.

I have one friend who is super wealthy... he's pretty miserable. There is hope.

Especially if he doesn’t earn another max deal and he shortfalls tens of millions of dollars.

Is there any evidence that Haywood wouldn’t have received that particular endorsement if he’d stayed in Utah?

Of course there isn’t

I can't imagine there are many league of legends bros in the NBA... it was a limited pool to choose from.

You really think he gets a 50 million dollar shoe deal in Utah? I mean, cmon. Hayward got more buzz and press sitting out for a year in Boston than he did playing 7 years in Utah.

He did LOL promo stuff in the past while in Utah, but it was just low budget stuff. I highly doubt they do something with that budget w/ Hayward if he was in Utah.

I wish there was a way to tangibly measure this... because there is hardly a sporting issue I’d rather place real money on... but, if his play continues on like this, when does the Boston sports world start to turn on Hayward? When do they start wondering aloud whether he’s broken?

Roughly 5 minutes into game 1 this season. They started in on Irving before the season even began.

He also sucked *** until his last few years here, so...we wouldn't really know. His press was due to type of injury it was and the hype that he is something greater than reality, which hadn't been discovered yet.

Also he lucked out with shoe deal imo. It was a pure hype signing, that won't pay off for them. No ones buying those shoes. I dunno, maybe that proves your point in a way, but it's almost like getting that injury allowed him to build hype before people really knew what he is: A good but not great player.

I'm sure people in China will, which is a massive market.

And we know. If Hayward had that injury in Utah there wouldnt be the monthly "Haywatch" segment on ESPN for an entire year.

I dunno, China is a massive market but they're not stupid. They'll buy actual star players shoes.

You're right about the Haywatch. It wouldn't be as big if he was here.

I just realized that we need the Dodgers to come back and win this series. That would certainly aggravate the Boston-area sports fans. I think you see where I’m going. Let’s hope the mood gets spiked.
