What's new

Suspicious packages sent to Obama, Clinton, and CNN Offices

I don't understand why you are so incredulous that some people are buying the false flag narrative that's being peddled by people like Limbaugh D'Souza etc

It's an insane notion but it is a first instinct idea for some reason. Limbaugh caters to a first instinct crowd just like MSNBC caters to those interested in a skin color battle.

It’s not just extemists who are peddling (still) the false flag narrative, but mainstream conservatives.

From Dinesh D Souza, to bill Mitchell, to Rush Limbaugh, and the entire Fox News and Breitbart propaganda apparatus. Even trump peddled it through twitter one hour before the arrest despite knowing that the man was a supporter. Even after the arrest, Rush Limbaugh, the highest syndicated conservative on the radio, was peddling the false flag narrative.

Just watch this video from 2:50-3:15

To think that the majority of conservatives don’t believe in the narrative that Trump, Limbaugh, and Fox News are peddling is beyond asinine. Of course they’re going to believe in their president and the junk media they’re addicted to.

@One Brow im not supposed to insult stupid people who write stupid things like this? I’ll be a nice liberal. Cuz apparently, we’re not supposed to insult or describe stupid people for who they are.

I think we do ourselves a disservice by sugar coating the stupidity of those on the right. We act as if there are two equivalent sides to every issue. As if Maddow is equivalent to the Fox News, am radio, Mercer and Koch funded apparatus. Or that climate change denial is equivalent to climate change science. Or that Maxine Waters poorly worded rhetoric is equivalent to Trump’s nonstop vitriol. And then we act as if calling people out on their **** is somehow being uncivil. Let me rephrase this, are we to respect the unbelievably naive at best and deliberately misleading and deceiving at worst? Those are the only two reasons I can fathom as to why people continue to defend trump and the right wing rhetoric/conspiracies we are seeing today.

People like Archie, toilet, and Scat routinely spew conspiracy, xenophobia, and other trash. When called out and they portray themselves as victims. It’s tiring. At some point stupid people who regurgitate stupid media (like Shapiro) need to either be either called out or ignored completely. Let’s stop giving credibility to them. Again, they’re either unbelievably naive or delicerstely trying to deceive.

Limbaugh is the highest syndicated conservative radio host in the nation. When he was peddling this false flag narrative, 20+ million (conservative) Americans were listening. Maddow, the highest rated MSNBC host routinely reaches about 3 million viewers. She’s definitely not reaching out to the same # of viewership nor is her content nearly as fact free or conspiratorial.

Do the math

Facts matter

You don't have to come in here you know, there's an entire forum dedicated purely to basketball and other sports just a click away.

Says the guy who beats off to polarized partisanship and sensationalism.

Better call us Nazis, sexists and racists too because, you know, facts matter.

You chose to enter a thread about politics on the general board. If you just want to talk about basketball, why did you enter this thread?

But I don’t think you’re a Nazi or necessarily a sexist. I do think you place an unwarranted trust in the likes of Ben Shapiro (serial cherry picker of statistics and gaslighter) and you conservative “Facebook friends.” This leads to links to misleading articles about political events or gaslighting under the guise of “discussion.” Granted, you’re not as bad as babe and other hacks. Probably should’ve listed them in the original post.

His van has a sticker that says "Native Americans for Trump."

I don't know what the guy is, but it's cool and trendy to make it about white though or no?

Literally laughing out loud. That’s your evidence that he’s native?

It’s been reported that his parents aren’t native Americans, no? I thought I read where one parent was from the Philippines and the other was from Italy. Seems like he was a serial liar and narcissist with oppositional authority and xenophobic issues. He was a loner.

Funny how that personality profile is so prevalent among Trump supported. Hell, that personality profile seems to be common among many fascists/nationalists.

Trump feeds on and off those angry loners who have an axe to grind. It’s a scary relationship. He gives the angry targets to attack and he feeds off their anger and energy. Some people aren’t meant for positions of leadership. Trump is definitely one of them.

I mean, the only reason I thought about this guy's race is because you brought it up. How silly of me to think he's Native from what's been released about him.

From the pro-Trump stickers on his white van to the profile information on his Twitter account, Cesar Sayoc, the Aventura man arrested Friday for allegedly mailing pipe bombs to prominent Democrats, trumpets his affiliation to the Seminole Tribe of Florida.

“Native Americans for Trump” reads one sticker of the Seminole flag posted on the white passenger van that police towed from the AutoZone in Plantation where Sayoc, 56, was arrested.

“Booking Agent / Sales / Marketing / Promotions / Project Mgr Live Events Seminole Hard Rock Live,” reads one of at least two Twitter profiles associated with Sayoc.

“Seminole Indians: An Unconquered Tribe,” reads a slide-show frame posted on Oct. 12 to a Twitter account, @hardrock2016, that appears to belong to Sayoc and includes a photo him holding up a sign of the American flag, with the lettering, “Welcome President Trump”.

I see you did not continue to make arguments on the Ferguson Effect nor on some unmentioned Obama policies.

The exact number is slightly over 20%, not under 18%. You dont seem the type to use rounding error to bolster your case.

As to the rest, looking at a bar graph and saying 20.19% is about the same because it looks like it to you is far from convincing.

Actually, my point was that a variation of 0.8/10000 over two years was in line with other two-year periods. Why do you keep focusing on the percentage rather than the actual size? Is there a reason you think the percentage difference rules out random variations of the size?

Here's some real numbers. Since the 1993 peak, during the current downtrend we've seen 6 times of yoy murder increases. The non-Obama increases were .26 - 2.4% increases, very small. The Obama events were back-to-back 10.8 and 7.86% increases.

Are you using percentage change to disguise similarly sized overall variations again?

We are talking annual murder increases a full order of magnitude higher between 2014-2016 than previously (low to mid-100's to 1,000's). You still holding the line that its random? The scholars sure didnt. Their question is not if there has been significant, meaningful increase but if it was a trend reversal.

So, we are discussing a 250-500% increase, but you are only talking about a 20% increase? Your numbers are not adding up.

So, who are "the scholars"?

I'm going to have to look up gaslighting, because I've seen it used frequently as of late and I thought it meant something different than what people are using it for.

There is no point in discussong that if we dont agree whether it was random or due to something. I don't think it was random and neither do the people the people living in Baltimore, Detroit, Chicago, St. Louis. I think we owe it to them to look for reasons why, not to brush it aside because Obama was in office.

Every murder is due to something. That doesn't mean the overall murder rate is due to any particular circumstance of national, societal factors. I don't think George H. W. Bush was responsible for the uptick in the homicide rate from 1989-1991, either, and I'm not brushing that aside because I'm so fond of a President who said atheists couldn't be good citizens.

If you are intent on insisting that non-randomness is responsible for the discrepancy and want to make a convincing argument for it, than please go back to #148, looking at the up-and-down nature of the change in murder rate considering cities of different sizes, and tell me how your hypotheses explain those differing percentage changes.

Literally, no one has 1) said anything about the color of the guy's skin but you 2) said that this wasn't a terrorist attack because it was.

Yet One Brow and Zombie and Thriller be liking that **** faster than this guy got caught.

Oh, btw, the guy is Native American and Hispanic. *Edit* Filipino

Have you seen a picture of the guy? He's white.

Not that dalamon actually said he was white. He just made a social commentary observation.

Why listen to speculation when you can read it in posts?

This is gold coming from you - the dude that speculated I've fallen for Nazi's or I'm a Russian disinformation account or very naive because I asked if people saw the guy verbally berating a 9/11 widow in Portland. That guy was canned from his work because of the video. Tell me, do you think his work fell savior for Nazi's, promotes Russian disinformation and are naive too?

Lines like this lead me to believe you've fallen for savior nazi's in modern garb... Seeing someone act like it's new falls into two categories with me; you're either a Russian disinformation/PR account promoting it(the reverse if you lead with a video of someone punching a nazi), or a very naive individual that's fallen victim to it.

Thriller said I was spewing conspiracy garbage and accused me of being a xenophobe. lol. Based off of what evidence? Instead of reading what I write, dudes like Thriller, One Clown, Dala, and you speculate I follow Alex Jones and I read conservative papers like Breitbart, I'm a xenophobe, I've fallen for savior Nazis, I'm Russian. Do you know how ****ing dumb this sounds? You guys literally speculate and name call instead of reading.

When you look it up, try not to laugh too hard or lose your **** seeing that it's Thriller throwing the term around.

Pot meet Kettle.
