Boozer KFAN rumor

Powerhouse said the latest rumor is that Dwight Howard wants Boozer to come to Orlando. The only way this could happen is through a sign and trade.

It's rumored that Bass/Gortat, Reddick, and Pietrus would be the players involved.

Just a rumor....

****, how much money back is that?

Gortat would be an upgrade at the 5 imo. If we got Reddick, there's no need to re-sign Korver. If we get Pietrus, there's no need to match Wes imo.

Gortat, Reddick and Pietrus back would be about 15.5M.

That Gortat contract could turn out to be a doozy too.

In a bad way.

I hadn't heard the latest revision of this sign and trade myself but it would almost have to be a 3 team trade with that many moving parts, IMO.

DJ and PK mentioned Howard wanting Boozer. Gortat came immediately to mind as a return.

I can almost taste it...

PG - Deron (only 1/2 white)
SG - Redick
SF - Kirilenko/Hayward
PF - Lee/Kirilenko
C - Okur/Gortat/Fes

White wash here we come!

Pietrus & Gortat are signed way too long. Bass would be a good pickup. Reddick is a RFA?

For Gortat and Reddick? Absolutely! For Bass and Reddick? No thank you. I could care less about Pietrus. Hot and cold offensively and takes a lot of bad shots. Decent defender, but not great.

I'd do it if it were Gortat, Pietrus and Anderson. But not Redick.

Edit: Strongly consider doing it...we get a defensive presence at the 5 which we need, a hell of a defensive wing with decent three point shooting to boot in Pietrus, and a versatile young guy in Anderson.

What? Reddick is a much better player than both Pietrus and Anderson.

What can he do other than knock down the three? He's making nearly 4M this year for that. No thanks.

I think Pietrus is a lot better defender than you're giving him credit for. He's long as hell and impressed the hell out of me guarding Lebron in the playoffs. And Anderson makes about 1M.

I can't imagine the Jazz want all three guys' salaries. Gortat and Pietrus alone add up to $11.6M, and Reddick's a free agent with a QO of $3.9M. Even besides the salary standpoint, would the Jazz want to add Pietrus and Reddick to the wings with AK, CJ, Matthews (possibly) and Hayward all there?

I'd be somewhat interested Boozer for just Gortat and Pietrus. With their salaries, Boozer could have a starting salary up to $14.6M. He probably has his mind set on the max, but I don't think he gets much closer than this.

Underrated defender and playmaker. He is tough as balls and can make plays off the dribble for both himself and others. Think Hornacek.

For the morans of the board: No, I am not saying he is as good or better than Jeff "Horny" Hornacek.

Pretty sure Reddick is an UNsigned RFA. So it could end up being higher than the 3.8M. Or has he even got the qualifying offer yet?

Agreed with this. Worth it for Gortat and Reddick. Sign Booz for starting 14 mil and send them for a signed Reddick (3-4 mil per) and Gortat. Send Pietrus to a team with cap space and that team can send us a future pick or young cheap player.

Anyone know how much Reddick will be looking to sign for? He really suprised me watching him this year. I would love to get him.

Don't know if Reddick has QO yet, but they will offer. True that his salary isn't yet set for next year. That's another complexity to including Reddick: it has to work for Jazz, Orlando, Boozer and Reddick. If anyone doesn't agree, no deal (or you bump Reddick out and include Pietrus, who doesn't have to agree.

On Gortat AND Bass, I doubt that Magic would give up two bigs just for roster purposes.

let's hope there is some validity to this rumor. Orlando is definitely the best team to be talking to about an S&T, IMO.

Those of you naysayin' on Pietrus are nuts.
