I was worked up yesterday. Still not drinking the Kool-Aid, but I can agree with Fish's take here. Would have felt better if assets had been paid to jettison Dante.

I believe Hill's contract is only partially guaranteed next year.
And once again it bears mentioning Hill's current contract is for less than the extension Utah offered him 2 years ago.

Please, no. Kevin Love is so bad and a head case. He's old, injury prone, a horrible contract, and shooting 32% from the field this year.
Burks for Korver is fair. If you’re meaning the addition of the picks, I’d say that they’d just hold those out until doing the future deal.

I’m happy for AB. He can use his athleticism and won’t have to be worried every second about his play, especially on the defensive side. Being allowed some freedom will allow him to show his skills and secure a nice new contract. I always admired his commitment to the team and the fact he never whines about playing time, or anything else for that matter. I wish him only the best.
It will also be nice to have a player who when he puts up a three pointer, you have a feeling it may just go in.

Zero... we ain’t giving a first for that contract... that would be the summer fallback plan if we strike out in FA. Dude isn’t healthy right now anyway so he can’t really help. From everything I’ve read from beat writers the Jazz aren’t interested in that contract.
Khris Middleton’s name is the name that continues to be thrown out there. I think that we want to give ourselves a chance at him before moving on to lessor options.

We did well in the deal. AB wasn’t a fit and wasn’t coming back next year. Only one of the seconds projects to have some value... put it this way isf we had given AB and 2M in cash for Korver would people complain about the cash. We can buy a pick in the 30s or 40s for 2/3M... the amount we saved this year in the trade.
We gave up 2 seconds for 38 year old Kyle Korver. 1st is the least we will give up for Love(if we want him).
Middleton is not going anywhere.

Korver is not paid a bujillion dollars for 47 years and while he is older has a much better injury history... They will be lucky to get off his deal... no way they get an asset unless someone is paying a premium just for a name. Love is a good player... who is going to be paid twice as much as he is worth and could be done if he can't stay healthy. He had foot surgery already this year.
I wouldn't touch that deal right now.
I agree Middleton ain't going anywhere.

Ya Dante seems like he is getting worse as the season goes on. Same goes for Jae.

I've been thinking about this trade for a bit now, and I'm starting to wonder if they were playing Burks so they could try and get his trade value up. I think this may have been the plan for awhile, and isn't about how the team has been playing. Now, since they have been playing bad and the 3 pt shooting has been so bad, they decided to target a 3 pt specialist. Who really knows though except for DL.
Scratch Boozer. We already have a Brewer, his name just happens to be Exum. Gobert is also everything we hoped Fes would be. I'm down with Memo and DWill. We don't currently have either of those.

The most optimistic view of this trade is a really good situation.
On this team It's hard to underrate a guy who has to be guarded closely no matter where he is on the court. That has been our biggest weakness by far, at least by the eye test. Korver could be a really high +/- player for this team.
Hope he gets reinvigorated coming back to Utah, I believe he still has some juice left in those legs.
