Jazz considering Jonas Valanciunas at #3

Everyone has different skills, having potential doesnt mean u can improve in every area. Kanter wont be a dwight howard in athletism, but he can improve his shooting or other offensive sides cuz he has potential.

Favors can improve certain stuff, like shooting consistency, but he cant be a nowitzki in shooting, everyone has different skills and differnet potential, i never said only Kanter can get better, but he can be a much better player eventually than JV and Favors.

Favors would easily be the #1 pick in this draft. You are raving.

I love favors but i think ure mixing him with Blake Griffin.
He didnt have an awesome rookie year, he proved us he has good intangibles, very good athlethism, and some other stuff but lets not make him something like Dwight Howard so soon plz.

I didn't. You did in a oddly vague way by saying Kanter won't become DH and JV/DF won't shoot like Dirk.

If you seriously are so high on Kanter that you think he'd get picked over Favors then enjoy your Turkish hash. We don't see the good stuff very often around here.

I just answered to ur manipulation of my msg before that made me look like saying only Kanter can get better. Im not so high on turkish players, if so then i would talk a bit about memo too but i didnt. Maybe our basketball views are too different but i see Favors as a consistent allstar player if he works hard, not as much as being 1st pick in any draft.

But if u want we can have a small bet, i say Kanter will avg at least 15 ppg 8rpg next yr. what do u think

3 yrs too long, lets make it 2. But whats the determantion of better player? better stats? and are u sure if JV will play this year?

I doubt JV will play in the NBA this year because of the lockout. Whoever picks him will take advantage by having him play another full season of competitive ball. Kanter on the other hand, may have to continue to not play because of the lockout.

i heard its certain lockout gonna happen but how long will it probably take , does anyone have an idea? i dont know the latest rumors in us

I also heard, if lockout will be for long, many european players including Gasol will return to europe.

No one knows. It seems very probable it will push back the start of the season though. Th

The lockout plays in JV's favor heavily. If there is a shortened season then yea 2 years no prob. I don't know what to bet. Send me some of that hash you're smoking. The in-laws would appreciate it. In Idaho we have nice potatoes, you might like them.

I said clearly better so we shouldn't need a metric to figure it out. But when the time comes I'll be happy to provide that.

haha, i dont smoke hash, but i ment not for a specific reward, just for discussion, for example i can create a thread as u wish me to do, by telling my deepest apologizes )
Btw JV is a pure center while Kanter is smthng like a 4/5. So im not sure how much comparable are they, but i can say , Kanter is a pretty naive guy. If he fails in nba, its probably becuz of out of the court reasons.
For example, in his interview when he was 16, he was telling its too early for nba, now im following the footsteps of my veteran teammates and wanna make a good careeer in Turkey then when im more experienced i may go to Nba....
But after he is declared ineligible by ncaa, he didnt return back to europe becuz Calipari convinced him. He is still a kid and gets effected by other peoples talk too much, i hope he will grow up in nba.

btw, clearly better is a too strong word. its pretty impossible he will be Clearly better than kanter unless 8-9 bones on kanters legs will be broken and never heal again

If Kanter can play good defense, I'm all for taking him. The only problem is, there is nearly zero game footage of him against real competition to see his defensive abilities/effort. I just have a fear that he is going to a Boozer/Jefferson-esque defender. It's hard for me to really give an opinion on how he will be in the NBA because of this. He could be a complete bust, a good player, or potentially an All-Star.

Got a link? Rhetorical ... because, as I've said before, this is DEAD wrong. What is your source of your misinformation? I think it's just a romatically-inspired assumption that Enes would want to return to Turkey (born in Switzerland, btw) ... when he was only a few months from an NBA draft .. really? He left Turkey because he didn't want to get locked into a contract .. he wants to be in the NBA.

I agree. I'd take him #3 .. but I admit I'm reaching a bit based on my own opinion he's an average defender.

do u think u know all about kanter ? He was born in switzerland n came back to turkey at the age of 3. He is pure turkish, his language , culture n everythng. Just what i see from his interviews, he seems like a naive guy and he may be easily manipulated by people. I support he wants to be in nba but it would have been better if he played 1 year of competitive basketball in europe instead of assistant coach in UK.
Only thing i agree with u about why he left turkey is, his club offered him a very long and astronomical contract. Like 5 yrs , 20 million dollar smthng and its a huge contract in europe, especially for a 16 yrs old guy.
If u watch that interview i shared in the link above, u may see his pointview was completely opposite from where he currently is right now

(And i prefer him to play in any team in nba rather than Turkey, there were campaigns in Turkey called ' Free Enes' to help him play in ncaa and go away from his club in Turkey)

As I've said before, we agree on most things re: Kanter. However, you cannot simply have hindsight .. look;

- Kanter left Turkey to come play one year of prep ball, one year of college ball, and then the NBA.
- His family felt that did everything necessary to protect his amateur status to accomplish the above.
- He played a year of HS ball.
- He committed to play for the Washington Huskies.
- He changed his mind and decided to play for UK.
- His eligibility was challenged by the NCAA (and even Mark Emmert said, publicly - initially - that he thought Enes would be cleared to play with a small suspension).
- He lost his case.
- Case was appealed.
- Case was lost.
- Kanter was asked publicly what he wanted to do. He said, I wanted to play bb for the Univ. of Kentucky, but now that I can't, I want to finish out my year, helping out my teammates anyway I can, and then enter the NBA draft.

I have seen Kanter, in MANY conversations, express his love for Turkey and his life/experiences there. He's represented your country very well. I just think he came here with an idea, it didn't work, and had to establish a plan 'b.' That plan was to sit tight and wait for the draft .. and while doing so, workout with UK bigs and stay in shape at a state-of-the-art practice facility.
